it's the only "good" thing he ever did, every other release was just ok or bad

This is probably the single worst opinion in the thread.

Idk man there's a post in here about Chevelle being Hum with better riffs.

    Certainly up there though

I still listen to What a Terrible Thing to Say by Four Letter Lie on occasion. I do not understand the hate it got. It's still a fun and fairly solid post-hardcore release, especially compared to many of their peers.

Two of my favorite Atreyu songs have horn sections in them :-)

    No Fun. Not Ever.

The world needs more ska and less shitty pop punk.

conor oberst's ear for song structure and melody is underrated/overlooked

Yeah, I've had enough ska in my life to be honest.

I don't think I could ever get enough of Let's Face It and Hello Rockview. I'd be quite happy with another ska revival as long as it's as up to scratch.

Both pop punk and ska are unbearable.

Every genre is good if done right and all have bands/artists I like.

This it true. And I lose respect in exponential measures for the opinions of those who disagree.

That said, some genres have a much smaller sliver of bands I think do it well than others do

It all sounds so immature and lazy.

    Like Country? :-)

I guess that is because both those genres at their height were big with kids? Each genre has hugely talented bands though so I couldn't call them either without discrediting those bands.

I just think that the aesthetics of pop punk and ska are similar and they both irritate the shit out of me. And yeah, I associate it with music like "I liked that when I was younger, but it's not actually good," but I never did like it.

I mean, I like the classics and all that. The genre as a whole does nothing for me much anymore however, it's just uninteresting.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Ska always stuck with me through out the years. I can't ever say know to fast fun punk. But actual pop punk just always comes off as too goddamn whiny to me. The only song I've been able to actually enjoy was one Wonder Years song and that's cause he was complaining about being 26 and a fuck up lol.

My dad used to play some album by The Specials a lot and that was the only ska I ever liked or paid any attention to

lol I've actually been on a ska kick the last few months.. mostly Less Than Jake and The Hippos. "Please" is such a good song.
"Second Chance For Max Headroom" by Sum 41 has a nice ska part as well

hate myself for saying this but i've listened to a new falling in reverse song too many times. the chorus in "broken" just sounds great to me.
