  6. I have 3 more songs to upload, so this will definitely not be up until tomorrow morning when I get to work. Sorryyyy!

But I promise, it'll be worth the wait.

If anyone has any last minute things you want to submit to me, you have until tomorrow morning to get them in!

    xoxo

@bradsonemanband Sorry, I forgot to send mine in and won't be able until I get home from work in the evening (considering time zone difference that means afternoon for most of you). If you publish the compilation before I manage to send my cover, could it be added afterwards?

Oh hey, did no one submit A Lack of Color?

Also, I'm not the closer this time! Yes.

Also, this comp is ridiculously good.

manoverboard365 - Title Track: Thought I accidentally hit play on Spotify or something when this came on. Great production. Really great opener for this comp, great job!

elemenohpe - The New Year: One of my favourite DCFC songs so I was stoked to see what you did with it. You kept a lot of the original parts from the song, yet made it completely yours at the same time.

bradsonemanband (Cootie Catcher) - The Sound Of Settling: Always excited to see what you come up with. As soon as this kicked in I was so taken off guard haha. Really cool stuff, fun twist. I enjoyed it.

Ugly Mug, redwing91007, and nothingsforeverdude - Crooked Teeth: This was the first time I've done a collab (aside from my work in bands) and it was awesome. We had a few technical issues with quantizing and transposing from different software but once I figured everything out (last night at 10:00PM) I was able to throw it together. I love the end product, both @Ugly Mug and @nothingsforeverdude have great voices and took this song to a level I never could have been able to reach myself. Definitely the most time I've spent on any of my covers thus far.

Jdaniels - What Sarah Said: Great acoustic song. Guitar and vocals are on point, not sure what else anyone can ask for.

Things So Impossible - Stable Song: I want to say the same thing I just said. Great guitar tone and the vocals sound great. Loved when the drums kicked in, sounds super full and great vibes.

Damien Davies - We Laugh Indoors: Song worked perfectly with the placement on the comp. Fit in really well with the 2 previous songs, enjoyed this one a lot too.

elemenohpe - Your Heart Is An Empty Room: HAHAHA, this kicked in and I was like wait what!?! Death Cab for Djentie; I love it. Jokes asides, the musicianship is on point.

Jdaniels - 405: Taking things back down a notch. Not much else to say that's different than your last track, I really, really like your voice.

xkhiemster - Summer Skin: Back at it again with the keys! The upright bass is really cool, how did you do that?

t_papaccio - Passenger Seat: Really love the atmosphere on this one, almost Julien Bakeresque.

JakeRabin - That's Incentive: Damn man, quality/production on this is fantastic. Really liked this as a punk song.

TedSchmosby - I'll Follow You Into The Dark: Really got that emotion in your voice, made it super enjoyable. Also happens to be one of my favourite DCFC songs so that didn't hurt either. I like your version of it!

Wall Of Arms (Belmore Cub) - Lightness: Lots of pressure as the closer haha. You did a great job, lots of little details I picked up on!

The bass has what sounds like an "upright bass" filter on it. I could be wrong I guess but that's what it sounded like to me on my first listen.

Oh, hm. I didn't do anything to it. It is running through my guitar amp, though--I don't have a bass amp--so maybe that makes it sound different.

Thank you! Fitting that my epilogue was placed last. :)

I have to say that everyone has done an amazing job! Death Cab is my favorite band and it is so fun to have all these great renditions to listen to.

@Ugly Mug @redwing91007 @nothingsforeverdude I think it was a fun idea that you chose to collaborate on the song, and the result was really cool!

  21. JakeRabin

    I'm tired.

What happened to the end of my song? It's cut off early for some reason.

Other than that great job everyone.

@manoverboard365 Production sounds so crisp, man. Love the sort of rasp to your voice too. You sound super earnest. I don't know the original song and I don't feel like I need to. This is absolutely good enough for me. The vocal tracks at the end are so well done too.

@elemenohpe Sorry, I didn't follow your progress this time - did you record all the instruments yourself? Those drums are super accurate, man. It's a tough drum track to get the proper cadence to, so major props. I love the dedication you put into every one of your tracks. I admire your passion, sir.

@bradsonemanband This would have been my second song after I Will Follow You, so I was really looking forward to this one, and I was stoked to see that you were doing it. I haven't listened to the last comp or two, but this is unlike anything I've ever heard from you Brad - and that's so impressive. Over a year of comps and you're still keeping it fresh and keeping the same quality you always have. Love the choice to fade it out too.

@Ugly Mug @redwing91007 @nothingsforeverdude Not sure who did what here, but I love the communal vibes. Forty-five seconds in and I was sold. This right here is why I'm so grateful for Brad starting these comps and everyone's willingness to participate. Also, the vocal melody of the second verse is so familiar, but I can't place it. I'm going to be trying to figure that one out for a while. Great job guys.

@Jdaniels Great placement in the comp with this one. As much as I like these fully produced tracks, I'm a sucker for raw, 2008-YouTube-esque recordings. Love that sort of lackadaisical ending too.

@Things So Impossible One of j favourite chord progressions there at the beginning. Is that the one used in the song? I use it for a lot of songs and I love it here. This is truly fantastic. If nothing else, it makes me want to go back to the Weezer comp (it's been way too long) and listen to your Weezer cover - as well as anything else you've ever done.

@Damien Davies Great guitar work here. Do you have any originals? Id really like to hear your voice on some stuff you've written for yourself

@elemenohpe Another great pick in terms of sequencing. Loved those three raw recordings, but it's nice to have something fully cooked after something raw, ya know? One of my favourite, I guess, conventions in music is a double layered vocal track - one composed and one yellin their head off in the background. Sounds great, man

@Jdaniels Great pallete cleanser after that freshly cooked meal. A nice, pleasant, two-minute dessert. Love it.

@xkhiemster It's not a complete Chorus comp without some piano. Glad you could bring that to the table. Some really cool ideas here. I like the melody tapped on the piano keys, and the use of tambourine. Super cool

@t_papaccio You nailed the desolate landscape of this song. The simplicity is beautiful. Great job man

@JakeRabin Another one of my favourite music conventions: someone saying something in the studio before or after a song. This is mixed so well dude. It makes me want to play Tony Hawk's Underground and rip through the city

@Wall Of Arms You nailed the ambience of this track. It's integral to the feeling of the song, and you conveyed it super well. Awesome work

@ricklightning I listened to this before reading the title of the song and thought, "Man, this is a perfect epilogue." Your voice sounds so good in the mix. I love that wavering guitar that lingers throughout the song that's then contrasted by that carthatic as hell outro. So good.

Fantastic job everyone. Looking forward to the next one, of course
