Records For Sale

 

Do you have a list with all the sold ones removed? Would just be easier to look through. Sorry if I'm being annoying haha

 

It'll be a case-by-case basis probably. There will likely be warping but that doesn't necessarily make them unplayable. However, you do want to be careful about spinning records in too bad a shape as it could possibly mess with your stylus. Honestly though, if it's not so bad that it's audible, it should be fine.

Managed to get the model #s for the Yamaha speaker set-up my parents are giving me. They're all no longer being manufactured, but would have cost me a few hundred bucks to buy everything in the set myself. Can't complain.

Just got probably the best deal I've ever got last week. On AP, a user made a for sale thread. On that list was A Fever You Can't Sweat out. Knowing I wouldn't be able to afford it, I sent a feeler out for the hell of it like I normally do because I've gotten lucky a few times. Anyhow he said he was looking for eBay prices (consistently bringing in $200-300). Figured he probably was, so I forgot about it. Months later, I get a message saying that if I was still interested in it, he would sell it to me for $10 + shipping. At first I was skeptical, because that difference is curious. But I figured what the hell, it's $15 and if it's not what it was supposed to be, PayPal would just refund me. Well it came in the other day, and sure enough it was the right record. It is the gold variant. Best part about it, he only spun the record once when first got it. It has some fair shelf wear, but nothing bad at all.

I spent so much money on records when I first picked up the hobby. I ended up selling a lot of them once I realized how much I had spent. I still really enjoy collecting though. Trading is fun too.

 

Great picks! Beggars is on my wish list. Goes for stupid money everywhere.

 

My goal with collecting is to just keep up with my favorite bands, finish a couple discographies. I have everything from Thrice from Vhiessu to M/m (missed out on Anthology). All of Brand New. All of mewithoutYou. My top three bands are pretty much as complete as I could hope for.

 

I've got the blue variant from when they first went on sale. My Alchemy Index is probably the most valuable record set I own, I've only opened it once to check out the artwork. Bought it on a whim before I even became a huge fan of Thrice. Had no idea until a few years later that it was uber-rare.

 

So you say now. Haha. Just watch that collection grow and the money disappear... in a good way though. It's a fun hobby but can really become an addiction.

Thankfully I'm only missing their first three albums (and the live album). I'm not too far off.

 

As much as I would love to own Anthology, I wouldn't see myself listening to it that much. So as bad as I want to own that, I just can't justify it.

 

Yeah, completing my Brand New collection has strain on my wallet. Not really worrying about variants though, I don't have the money for that at all. haha

 

Yeah variant collecting is just something I've never even considered. It's all I can manage to purchase one copy of an album.
