I like to think of everything after Reroute to Remain as a different band since I don't think it's bad, but it's so different and weak in comparison to their earlier records. Siren Charms was the first record of their's that I didn't like at all, though.

 

I don't care what anyone says, but "Take This Life" is a fucking jam.

 

Cannot get over the new Erra album.

 

I surprisingly like their newest record but I can definitely see why people would hate it. It definitely has a Filter/10 years/Chevelle sound to it.

 

If the new one doesn't hook you first up, check out Eternal Kingdom and Somewhere Along the Highway. All their releases are fantastic, but those are two of my favourite heavy records ever.

 

For those open-minded about deathcore this is some good stuff. Hope it gets a physical release so I can throw my money at it.

Sorry man, but I have to hate on it. It is borderline metal core and the mix is pretty bad with his vocals drowning out the rest of the band. That cover art is pretty kickass though. I am interested as to who the artist is and if he has done anything else.

 

I probably would've dug this a lot more about 7 years ago, but it ain't nearly as offensive as some of the deathcore from that era. It's decent, but nothing I'd probably listen to more than once or twice. I agree with Nate about the coverart though. It's pretty awesome.

 

Huh. I actually don't find the vocals overpowering at all, but I guess we just hear things differently. Though in what world is "expressing dislike" the same as "hating" on something?

...Oh, right, metal community.

Regardless, yeah, that's some damn fine artwork. Artwork for metal albums is so good a lot of the time, actually. Except artwork that uses human skulls anymore. That imagery is so overused that it physically hurts me when I see new metal releases that just use more fucking skulls as album artwork.

 

This is just a reminder about how awesome Nails is and how everyone should listen to them.

 

I'll still spin good deathcore from time to time. This is closer to that acacia strain type "beatdown" brand of metal than it is deathcore. The vocals def stand out but it's not as though mixing it with the guitars louder would've improved the overall sound.

I don't hear any metalcore in this though...metalcore to me is as i lay dying or august burns red...this band doesn't have the aeolian riffs, it's all breakdowns with some down tuned chromatic riffs.

@inspectorkemp you would definitely like this band, slaughter to prevail...they just signed onto sumerian and their vocalist is filthy (check out his covers)

 

Dude, I fucking LOVE Slaughter To Prevail. Gnarly as hell. Easily one of the best deathcore bands out there right now. I follow Alex Terrible's covers as well so I know how much of a monster he is.

Alex also released this goofy little video on his Youtube channel. Pretty fun.

Side note: Alex Terrible is also attractive as fuck.

I'm loving Chthe'ilist, Obscura, and Agoraphobic Nosebleed so far this year.

 

I think it goes without saying but agoraphobic nosebleed can do it all. Arc is such a jam.

 

Really looking forward to the rest of the EPs that ANB will be releasing.

 

Have they set any release dates yet on the rest of those EPs?

 

I've been jamming the new Rotting Christ album like crazy for about two months. Still blows me away every time.

 

Yeah, new Rotting Christ is insane. Love it.

 

Not really hearing it guys. Anything in the album you particularly enjoy? Sounds like standard stuff, nothing standout.
