All of my wife's aunt's and uncles sell Getting Healthy kits. All their statuses are "I need people to sample some products and get on the path for healthy living! For just $30 you can get started!"

If I'm sampling shit it better be for free haha. But it's also weird that they've all been selling these things for over 2 years, losing money and also they're all still overweight. It's sad to watch because they honestly believe they will get rich off it.

 

If you make a true full time job you can. My wife has a friend who was a very successful saleswoman. She was like VP of sales at some small-medium size company. She took a new job didn't like it and one of her friends recruited her to the R+Fs thing. So she went all in and already got the Lexus in a couple months and as far as we can tell is successful doing it. It's annoying seeing the posts but you know she is doing well.

Other people act like the couple facebook posts and selling to their friends make them successful. But I can't hate to much because it may help pay a bill or two. It's just so pathetic the image they try to maintain doing it.

 

It's so amazing to me how people see someone with their head down and headphones in or reading a book and think that body language is inviting a conversation

 

One my coworkers from the other department kept trying to get my attention apparently and I couldn't hear them cause of my headphones and listening to Sigur Ros. Hope they weren't standing there next to me for too long.

 

Can we turn chorus.fm into a MLM? I think we should.

 

It also helps if the product is legit. Most of the ones I see the product is a scam in itself, let alone the pyramid scheme element.

 

I get a cut of every supporter that joins under me, and every supporter that joins under them, etc etc. Everyone gets rich!

 

I see that Plexus shit all the time and they use advertisements that look like they were made in Microsoft Paint circa 1995.

 

My wife has tons of people on her fb selling shit and one day they all posted the same stupid inspirational meme. We swear there is some secret forum they all go to to post stuff. And it's so saturated you're seeing repeats so it no longer even appears to be original.

 

I never know how to react when a family member does this because I feel like it should be common courtesy to not try to talk to me in that context, but I also feel like a douche if I don't pause and respond. lol.

 

Yeah this is a much more clear cut situation haha. I'm working right now. Also just heard a guy say he stopped reading a book he was enjoying because "it was too girly"

 

My folks do it all the time, drives me apeshit.

 

I had to unfollow this guy I knew because he reinvented himself on FB as this super-successful pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps hot shot in order to sell his MLM stuff. It was really annoying and contrived.

 

I went to one of Vector Marketing's "interview" sessions and the place was empty save for the guy working the front desk and his girlfriend and the 3 other people in the session with me. I peaced out after they told me I'd have to buy the demo knives.

And then another lady tried to recruit me into some supplemental life insurance company and I had googled the company and smelled pyramid scheme off the bat.

 

Might be time to turn those headphones up, lol. Stupid toxic masculinity.

 

One of my exes does It Works, she tends to flood FB from time to time about it. At one time, I wanted to send her message telling her that it's a pyramid scheme and she fell for it but once I realized how childish the whole idea was, I just abandoned it.

 

Gonna be one of those days. There are 200+ people here. Those are occasionally very fun but mostly really fucking awful

 

What's worse is these companies that really are just contract companies for door to door salesmen selling cable subscriptions.

God Sia really is one of the best in the business. So good.

 

where do I start with Sia?

 

Anywhere really. Her new album is great but a tad scattershot as it's all songs she wrote for other people. 1000 forms of fear came out a couple years back and is great. Elastic Heart is my fave song. Some of her older stuff gets a bit weirder. Her most recent two are pure pop goodness. She's wrote a number of songs for other artists too. Two of my favourite Carly Rae songs were written by her.

 

Yeah. I think I'm more familiar with the songs she wrote for other people tbh.

 

I seriously love the song "Chandelier."

 

I'm way more of a Sia the songwriter fan than Sia the singer
