How have the crowds been for this? I thought the Electric Factory was an ambitious venue for the Philly date. (I'd have been there, but Underoath is the same night)

Unfortunately Idk the answer to your question but I saw them with Silverstein last year at the electric factory and it was kind of a bummer how empty it was and that was opening night of star wars. Mind you this is still searching in it's entirety but I'm not expecting a full show by any means. I'm going to this with my gf in philly so I can definitely get back to you.

From a recent interview: Link at the bottom

Senses Fail is also scheduled to record a new album later this year. Nielsen said the disc, which should be released in early 2018, will “sound like if there was a record between ‘Let It Enfold You’ and ‘Still Searching.’

“It’s like a bridging of the gap,” he said. “It will have a very energetic sound that still retains some of the darkness of that time. It’s a way of revisiting the past but with a new twist.”

    This should be pretty neat

I saw that too. I'm guessing Buddy is having a blast with Speak the Truth and is deciding to go that route with SF. I wonder if they're going to attempt a mainstream radio song? Can't Be Saved (thanks to Guitar Hero) did wonders for them and I'd love for them to tap into that mindset and see what comes out!

Yeah we'll definitely see. Tbh, I wasn't a fan of the most recent ep or the speak the truth stuff. SF has been my favorite band since LIEY but his voice has become pretty grating. Personally, I think it fits better with the heavier stuff since the screaming makes me miss his voice. I will say though that Wounds might be my favorite song they've ever recorded and that's got a lot of clean singing

I agree. Buddy never really took care of his voice and the clean singing is usually affected by it. Haven't listened to Wounds or most of Pull the Thorns so I'll have to listen to it! I just talked to my one friend about SF returning to their "original sound" and he said he doesn't believe musicians when they say that. Thinking about that, I remember quite a few artists that say they're returning to their original sound and I remember those albums being bland. Of course I can't come up with a single artist that did this but do you by any chance remember an artist saying this and then coming out with a poorly received release?

I think it's so funny how Buddy pulled a total 180 in regards to their old material. It wasn't too long ago that the band dropped 187 from their set and wanted to focus on their newer heavier music. Fast forward a few years, they've done LIEY and SS full album tours, Buddy formed Speak The Truth, and now he's talking about going back to their old sound. Don't get me wrong, I am glad to hear they are going that direction but Buddy just talks too much some times.

That's a good question. I can't think of any and that goes back to your point that those albums are usually pretty forgettable. I feel like SF said that before LINAWR which obviously wasn't true. I can think of bands that tried too like Just Surrender and FTSK but those albums were too little too late. Maybe TBS with their reuniting with the original members. I personally hated that album too but I digress

    Edit: Definitely listen to Wounds!

Buddy just has to start pissing off fans directly and he'll go full Eddie Hermida. Never go full Eddie Hermida haha. Seriously though, he went from being a trend setter to following trends. I guess as long as he's happy and SF is putting out quality music, I can't really complain.

Yeah I think it was TBS I was thinking of. Then again, I believe they mentioned numerous times that they weren't going for a TAYF sound but a lot of people assumed they would.

This is pretty much exactly what he said in Baltimore last night. Got to the venue late so after all my worries I never even got to see Like Pacific. Shame. I do know their set though and its acceptable but not great. Still bums me out that their bassist straight up told me at Warped last year that they will never play anything from their "The Worst..." EP again.

Snagged the SF set also, which had been the same as before. I don't think Buddy has ever sounded better in the times I have seen them. Also shocked at how long the set felt, it was such a great experience. Rams Head is also a really cool venue, i'd love to go back someday.
