    Keep on the sunny side.

Somehow, I missed the fact that my library has comics/graphic novels in an adult section too and not just in the "teen" section. I'm finally getting to read Saga, Y the Last Man, Paper Girls, etc! Haha

    Did some X-Men reading today.

First I read probably about half of Marjorie Liu's Astonishing X-Men run. I love that her run featured Karma quite prominently (the two trades I read centered on a villain from her past), since she's one of my favorite X-Men. This was a great little moment (if you don't know, her power is to telepathically control others by basically entering their minds):

She, Wolverine, and Gambit are great. This was also my first extended exposure to the Shiar warrior Warbird, who reminds me of a mix between Thor and Starfire; she had a lot of fun moments. This also contains Northstar's marriage, which is important, though I'm not that into him as a character.

I then skim-read my X-Men Visionaries: Neal Adams trade. Collects his work on the series back before it got canceled (before that iconic Giant-Size X-Men relaunch of the 70s). Good classic material if you're into superhero comics of that era, though it was pretty exhausting due to starting in the middle of a story and being literal nonstop action. Still, fun seeing what's viewed as the creative peak of the original roster's era. Includes the origin of good ol' Sauron.

Finally got up to Marvel Now stuff and started All New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men by Bendis. First volumes of both were fantastic.

Funny enough, I was just reading Bendis' All-New X-Men. Read through half the second trade, and then realized I've done a lot of X-Men reading today, but no preparation for my church duties tomorrow... Oops, lol.

But, yeah, good stuff. I don't get why people don't like Bendis' X-Men work. He's got a mixed record with big team stories, but I stand by his Uncanny run being really good. I connected so much with his poor misunderstood Scott.

I've only read one trade (the second one, funny enough), but I really dig it. The Sorrentino art is fantastic, and seeing Old Man Logan deal with coming to main continuity/present day is cool.

Yeah some of the libraries I go to have them in both, too. One even has Lumberjanes in the children's section so they have stuff in 3 different spots.

Finally got round to reading nailbiter. Really enjoying it, just a little over halfway through it and it's great. I managed to pick up issues 1-10 of the autumnlands for £8 off eBay and picked the remaining 4 issues up individually. Has anyone read the autumnlands on here? It looks interesting and I thought the story sounded really good. I've also got the complete collection of fade out by ed brubaker to read.

Look what came in the mail this week! I have to say, I was really nervous about reading this. I know that sounds dumb, but Archie digest comics basically taught me how to read and I was so scared that everything would be so different. Then I read the introduction by Fiona Staples. I'll admit it made me emotional. The characters are the same. They have just been made to be more modern and engaging. Archie is still clumsy and distracted. Jughead is wise, lazy, and hungry. Betty is still perfect. She fixes cars and plays sports. Veronica is still manipulative and narcissistic. these are the same characters I grew up loving and I am really enjoying this series. Sorry for the rant. Please enjoy the pic of my daughter reading Archie with me.

Geez it's already been 7 months that's crazy! It's going well, still hasn't started talking yet (he'll be 18 months next week) but he's been "reading" to himself out loud and it's the cutest thing!

Meltdowns are still a constant thing but I know that's not going away anytime soon!

I'm still able to read comics/books and play VG after he goes to sleep so it's not so bad.

Starting to think about #2 though so that may change before long!

How about yourself with 2 little ones?!

I've gotta get that eventually. I remember being so dang hyped when I saw it had a Dazzler Thor. Wasn't that arc written by Kelly Thompson? Love her.

Yes! And it is wonderful. I only wish it were longer. It goes right into a Civil War II arc because of course it does.
