I'll be finishing it this weekend. Only 14 episodes left. This is the fastest I've ever watched a show (not counting from when I started it a year ago)

Finished Empire's End. It's ok and definitely worth the read if you've read/enjoy the previous Aftermath books, but if you only having a passing interest I'd suggest reading the Wikipedia pages for the series and an article about the references/Easter eggs. It's important for the end of the Empire/origins of the First Order and cool to see the battle of Jakku, but the first 275 of 425 pages are really unnecessary and don't add much so I can't recommend unless you're already invested in the trilogy.

  3. is it best to start at the very beginning of Rebels? i haven't watched it, but i always hear how great it is so i should probably check it out! are there some especially awesome episodes that might get me into it? i suck at binge watching shows... unless it's Seinfeld or The Office, ha.

Just ordered the new Acker and Blacker book. Discussed this a little in the comedy thread, but it's pretty cool that Matt Gourley and Fun Buns Lund are now part of canon.

Okay... I am beyond excited for next week.

Though I guess we have a pretty good idea how it will turn out.

All juicy clips from the episode were on my YouTube homepage so I watched them....damn son.

    Wow! Just wow!

What an amazing build up to that moment. Mad props to Filoni and crew for crafting such a special moment in the saga.

It was perfect. I love what they did with Maul. Went from just the bad guy who dies in phantom menace to actually sympathizing with him in his last moments.

Just letting Williams score play out the end was perfect. Just letting that moment breathe. Hot damn!

Rebels Recon is always great, but their commentary on the fight is just so good.

Rebels has definitely been killing it this season. Loved the new episode.

I finally caught up with Rebels and for all the great story elements, I wish I liked the show more. For every great moment like the end of last's episode or Mon Mothma, there's Ezra doing really dumb things and Chopper being....Chopper. Thrawn has been cool but hasn't done much, and they literally left behind one of the best characters 4 episodes ago. This show has so much potential and does have amazing thing in it, but too often it feels poorly focused on the lesser elements.

I can't help but think that they did that for a reason. I am thinking we'll see some type of Mandalore tv show next. They know how insanely popular that character is and wouldn't just dust her aside if they didn't have a plan for her. We'll know a lot more in about 3 weeks after Celebration. If I can, I definitely plan on posting here to give everyone updates on what I see and experience there. I am sooooooooooo excited.

I hope so. I'm going to Celebration too so any big reveal there would be awesome. Do you know what day the Rebels panel is? I'm only gonna be there Friday and Saturday, so The Last Jedi panel is goal #1, but this is definitely priority 2.

Do or do not, there is no try.

The Rebels panel is on Saturday, so you're in luck! I went to the one last year and they revealed Thrawn which was so, so cool. Wish flying to America wasn't so pricey or I'd be all over it again! Maybe in 2019 for IX!

    I do not exist.

Wanting to get into some of the Star Wars books. Where's a good place to start? I saw the first post in this thread but wondering if there's any good advice.

Lost Stars is just a great Star Wars story while the most vital to the current state of affairs in the galaxy as of TFA is Bloodline. I also really liked Lords of the Sith (about Darth Vader) and Dark Disciple (about Quinlan Vos and Asajj Ventress).

I second Lost Stars and Bloodline. Catalyst is good if you want to know more about Galen/Krennic from Rogue One and their history.
