Yeah it's so weird. He's probably still my favorite rapper if I had to choose.

 

Arbitrary score thrown up with the BIG reviews on p4k is messy, author of the Ready to Die piece (which wasn't all that good) clearly prefers Life After Death

 

I prefer life after death too tbh

 

Yeah p4k's divide between score and review is sometimes extremely apparent. Kind of a flawed system I think, it creates a lot of unnecessary hostility toward their writers from people who don't understand the inner workings of their staff.

 

Their hip hop reviews are very hit or miss anyway, depending on the writer. They could be more carefull in that regard, but whatever.

 

Reading the No Way Out review, I had no idea it beat Life After Death AND Wu Tang Forever to a grammy. Damn.

 

The funniest thing about that is it only got worse in years to come

I love both of the last Freddie Gibbs albums, but still don't know how I feel about that case we was involved in. Definitely put a bad taste in my mouth.

 

I feel like I have no idea what happened and all charges were dropped almost immediately after he was charged so im cool with listening to him.

 

Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt since charges were dropped so quickly and nothing more ever really came of it.

Dude has a bunch of quality material too. Pinata, Shadow of a Doubt, ESGN, Str8 Killa No Filla, Cold Day in Hell, Pronto...

 

the new 2 Chainz songs are amazing

Need to check them out. Good Drank is one of my favorite songs from last year, and the 2.0 remix with the choir is dope too.

 

This song is so catchy. I heard it when it leaked about a month ago and had it stuck in my head after the first listen.

Edit: Kodak verse is horrible tho
