I'm tempted to take Nashville in an upset but it just seems so unlikely with how well the Ducks have played since Christmas. I like the look of that Preds team, though and it wouldn't surprise me if that ends up being a long series.

 

I wouldn't see it as an upset. Nearly every team (sans a few) in the playoffs this year has a shot for the cup. This is the best defensive hockey the Ducks have ever played in their 23 year existence. The Preds will have to earn it.

 

Yeah, I could see anyone in the West except Minnesota in the finals pretty easily.

No idea. I've barely followed the Leafs all season, and I haven't really followed the Marlies either since Nylander was called up, so I'm woefully out of the loop.

 

I feel you. I only really watched Leafs hockey after the deadline when the Baby Leafs got called up. I tried to keep a tab on the Marlies this year, but it's tough with the afternoon back to back to back games

My hope is for a Kings/Bolts final but honestly I'd even put aside my intense Original 6 hate if it meant the Hawks lost. I'm still happy there's no Canadian teams in the playoffs at all so everything else is just cake.

 

I want the Sharks to go far but I don't see it.

 

Why do you hate the original 6?

Hmm yeah I like that.

 

Two main reasons: while I appreciate the history of the league it feels like they go overboard with their glorification of the Original 6 whether it be in regards to merchandise or coverage. I get that those teams have been around the longest and therefore have the most fans but I appreciate when smaller market teams are in the spotlight for a minute and it seems like the only way that happens is if they force the league/media to notice them. The Original 6 just get the attention no matter how they're performing.

My second reason, and this is just from personal experience, but I've found fans of Original 6 teams to be the most rude/obnoxious/condescending people to deal with at least at games in my home arena. I understand why they come to see their team play in Tampa, it's cheaper and usually the weather is pretty awesome, but being told on numerous occasions that hockey doesn't belong in Florida, we're all trash, or seeing their fans getting in to fights either in the stands or out in the street in front of the arena like last year didn't do much but increase my dislike.

NHL no longer allowing GIFs of game action to be posted. Like that's going to make anyone visit their awful new site. They continually show why they're a second rate sport to most of the US.

Bettman is an absolute clown and nothing but had for the game. He's backwards on literally every single important issue. He needs to have some real long talks with Adam Silver.
