So, a couple of things

- The Joycon grip is awesome. Kills any need for a pro controller. Definitely need to grab a charging grip, though.
- 1-2 Switch has some great games, and some terrible ones. The baby one is so ridiculous haha.
- Snipperclips is fun, but extremely light on content, at least when it comes to 1-2 players. Don't think it was worth $20.
- Zelda may be the best game I have ever played.
- A second AC adaptee is basically necessary if you plan on taking it on the go.

Going to Gamestop today to trade in the Wii U, hoping to walk out with two joycon, a charging grip, a case, and Bomberman.

 

I wasn't gonna use one but I'm paranoid abou the dock scratching my screen

 

Aw, that's disappointing, it was going to be the one thing I bought from the eShop right away. About how many levels/puzzles are there?

Now, I haven't played any of the 2-4 player levels because I'm waiting to get another pair of Joycon so we have at least 3 players, but some of the 1-2 player levels can legitimately be beat in a minute. The fun is forgoing the obvious route in favor of cutting each other up into wackiness and seeing if you can pull it off, so your mileage may vary. They do get harder as you go from left to right, though.

 

Yeah, that does look a little thin. Still might grab it because a console launch makes a man do irrational things but it's a shame a concept that seems like it could have a ton of mileage doesn't get more content.

 

This is what ended up happening for me. Lol. But I guess I'm settling for that for now.

 

Shame. Do you think there's potential for new content (via free updates or DLC)?

 

On another note, can you guys hold the joycon grip with one finger on a shoulder button? I can't make it work comfortably. I ended up just using my index fingers for ZR/R and ZL/L.

 

I definitely think there is, and I certainly hope so. One interesting note is that when you select 1-2 player mode it brings up what seems to be a screen where you pick what "notebook" you want to play. There is only one option though, the "no rules" notebook, and there is nothing to indicate there's any others to unlock... may play around a bit solo and see what I can find.

 

I did a little searching and there are multiple (spoiler for number if you don't want to know 3) notebooks.

So, was chilling with my bro in law yesterday. We were playing fast rmx, and I decided to make dinner.

Bro: mind if I keep playing while you make dinner?
Me: I don't mind but I'd rather you hang out in the kitchen with me!
Bro: .........i can....
Me: oh yeah....

Very stupid I know but I had already forgotten a out the portability of this thing. Amazing.

 

Traded all my wii u stuff for credit at gamestop today since I'll eventually get a switch. Was able to get Breath of the wild for the switch for 20 bucks for some reason. Maybe some deal going on. There are four people who have not picked up their pre-orders so they are fair game at 9pm. Hopefully I can snag one later tonight.

 

I realized this trying to hold "R2" to shoot Link's bow. Not the best. May need a pro controller.

Also I feel like the Switch doesn't feel "locked in" in the dock. It didn't have a distinctive"click" when it was set in correctly. So I wiggled it around a bit. Kind of annoying; I'll just have to be careful.

 

I noticed that as well in regards to setting it in the dock. It doesn't seem to click on at all. And it's not stable. Not a big deal obviously, but I wish it was as crisp as the controller is.

 

I haven't even set my dock up and don't know when I will.

 

The way the Switch sits in the dock is pretty bad I think, the only thing I don't like or understand so far

 

I've actually really been enjoying the joy con grip, I don't think I'll end up getting a pro controller

 

being able to play zelda in my bed is something i cant get over lol. this is everything i wanted

 

I like how it sits in the dock, I've had no problems. I wouldn't want it to be too tight because I'd worry about it scratching.

 

oh my god it's finally here

 

Spent a few hours last night locked into Bomberman. Honestly have 0 complaints with the look/size/feel of the controllers and tablet. It feels awesome. I actually can't wait until Monday because I have to fly to Florida, I'm going to love having this thing. haha.

 

I can't get over the fact that a game this stunning is running on this little thing I'm holding. I think as a handheld, which it mainly is to me, the Switch is a wonder. I'll always miss the dual screens though.

 

It will mainly be a handheld to me, I skipped the Wiis, it's so awesome to me that their main console will be portable. The only reason I haven't got it yet is I could never trade my 3ds in towards it.
