I'm going to name my child the fake name I give white people at bars: Derek Powers

 

My first name is Quin and my middle name is Eamon, so I never had a tangible escape as a kid, if I had wanted to be called by a different name.

I always spell my name out when I need to give it to people because I feel like everyone is like ??? when they hear it. I'm a terrible liar, so I feel like people will know if I give a fake name.

Naming kids is hard and I hope I don't screw it up someday

I always wait to spell out my name over the phone. Last name is long and Spanish. I can usually tell if they're ready to type and I'll spell it out. If I can tell they're a naive butterfly and aren't prepared to type I just tell them my name and wait for them to be like "oh shoot, approaching keyboard, please spell slowly."

 

My last name is the opposite in terms of shortness, but I end up spelling it out because for whatever reason the last name "Staack" exists, which really fucks it up for those of us without the second 'a'

 

My last name is the worst.

 

I mentioned an old bf in the office and a coworker like freaked out cause she has never heard me talk about one before. Like... I'm single. Is there that many occasions to bring up an ex in the office? Why is that surprising? I hate when ppl react that extra tho. It makes me wanna hide even more stuff (even tho I wasn't hiding intentionally) because I hate when ppl get all expressive and make a big deal over things. Let me liiiiive

 

I don't like telling people/co workers about my "dating life" because some people don't know how to mind their own business.

 

Mine try to set me up with any man that comes to the lab and is breathing/has a pulse. It's annoying af.

 

no one at my work usually asks about my personal life so that's pretty cool.

I do have a co-worker who I talk about how bad I am at talking to girls I'm interested in. She laughs at my pain.

 

I pretty much can't shut up ever and feel the need to be constantly talking so I tell all kinds of people all kinds of things.

I talk a bit about my relationship but it's very broad talk. Like "I'm very happy" and "She's amazing" or even "We went to (insert place here)". But there's so much that I like to just keep between us, so many great jokes and experiences I like keeping sacred with us because it all just feels like "ours".

 

I have talked to my coworker friend about my exes and stuff but she's also a friend lol. Idk why a coworker I've never really talked to about anything more than surface level stuff would expect me to. But most ppl in my office are married with kids and it's all they talk about, so I guess it stand out when I don't? Idek. Every time we hire someone new I'm surprised by how young and married with kids they are!

 

Yeah, almost everyone I work with is married, with the exception of one guy. I'm also 4-5 years younger than everyone here.

 

Same. My boss and coworker are both 55yo women, they're my work moms, and they're awesome. they like to hear about how i fuck up on my dates and then make fun of me

 

Pretty much my life at this point. I'm the only one here who is younger than 30 and not married so I only bring up my personal life when it's relevant. I usually only give broad, general details too because I like keeping my personal and professional lives separate.

 

I have a coworker I assumed was older than me cause she's married and pregnant and she's 20 omg!

Almost everyone I work with has kids.

 

One of my co-workers is like 30 and has 3 kids, I can't even imagine

 

all my co-workers in my department are much older and have families. I'm known as the child in the department because how young I am compared to everyone else.

 

The vast majority of my co-workers are over the age of fifty. They just ask about my sex life, and ask for pictures. It is weird.
