I've got a job interview tomorrow at 10. omg.

 

Whose money are you spending this time? Still yours?

 

So my wife has been in Seattle since Thursday visiting friends. Of course I miss her dearly, but it's also been a blast having the house to myself for the last four days. This is my last night, and I think I'm going to go get a shit ton of Taco Johns, bring it back here and watch Bojack Horseman all night.

 

So the new guy was great. He took notes, asked questions and is really cool. Thank the lord!

Two reasons to like it then!

 

The Army allows me to go to state schools for free and will pay me a housing allowance for all of my time in school. It's a beautiful thing.

 

Ah, so I'm paying. Lol. You guys deserve it so that's cool.

So does the Army not offer to pay off any loans taken for school prior to enlisting? I think my cousin enlisted thinking that was the case then learned unfortunately that was not the case.

 

Yeah, I got fucked as well. Three times I was promised something from the Army and they gave me 0. I plan on taking full advantage of this. Gonna get as much $$ out of it as possible.

 

Talked it over with family and I am quitting my job. Not sure how I feel yet.

 

What were you doing and why are you quitting?

 

I've been working level 1 help desk. I'm quitting because they changed my schedule from 8-5 to 3-noon and did not provide me with anything I needed to actually do my job (a headset, access to my own schedule for breaks/lunch, access to the SDSA tools) and are refusing to pay me for today because of their own mistakes.

Are you in Texas? I know the Dallas area has a huge Verizon integration training center. The work isn't crazy difficult and they pay well. I don't have an in or anything, but a guy I worked with at my company left for around 80k. I don't know if you have a degree in the field, but it is certainly worth looking into.

 

I hear awesome things about Verizon. I think they're a really great company to work for. I know that if you know a 2nd language you're almost guaranteed a position. That's what a guy I know who works there said anyway.

 

I just heard that Verizon workers are going on Strike here in MA

IDK how Verizon would be to work for, but they are a great company to work with. We deal with them for all of our mobile devices and their customer support is the best I've encountered for a large company. Always friendly and helpful. Our reps have been great as well and seem to always be moving up in the company.

I swear to God I don't work for Verizon lol. Anyway check out our data coverage map and compare our serv... I mean their service... jk.

 

I'm cool with Verizon. Everything phone-related has been really easy with them for 10+ years or whatever, and Fios is better than any other alternative I have. I'm just so glad I got out of Time Warner, now THAT is a shitty company to deal with

 

I was so happy when I moved to the suburbs and had Verizon as an option. Comcast has a literal monopoly on the city of Boston, blows my mind that it's even legal. They're the worst.
