Whenever someone says errand I think they're saying Erin. I have a friend who calls me Rin and it's like why do you need to do that for a 4 letter name? Most of the time people think I'm saying Ariel when I introduce myself. If they ask my name over the phone I automatically spell it out bc I know they'll spell it wrong even if they do hear my name correctly.

 

one of my co-workers is named Jon and I always fall for the trap of them calling him but me thinking it's me.

 

Any nickname people have given me is longer than my name which seems counterintuitive

I don't think I'm going to have kids, but I've always liked the names Sebastian and Eliza.

 

Imagine if you were Trevor Everett. That's a genuine mouthful. You'd probably get called shit like Reverberate.

Speaking of OKC profiles, did anyone else listen to that podcast DTR when it was in season? It's a show put on by Gimlet and Tinder about online dating. There were only 6 episodes but it was very entertaining and made me laugh a lot, and I'm not even in the online dating world. I'd recommend it to anyone in here! Hoping it comes back soon.

My legal name is James but I've gone by Jimmy since birth, so in school or when I apply for jobs or at the doctors and whatnot I also get called James and have to correct people. It's not a big deal, though. I don't mind James.
