Every time he referenced sister Abigail I cringed.

Imagine if we had had Cesaro in Randy's place in this storyline... even tonight would've been tolerable cause it actually would've been shocking coming from Cesaro

I mean, the audience can predict something happening and the characters not know. We see this all the time. Even if Bray should've known, an argument could be made that he's so delusional and so convinced that he's brainwahsed someone like Orton that he wouldn't see it coming. I don't think it makes Bray look foolish, especially if he comes out of this even more dangerous.

This is why I like it. It seems to be setting up a Bray character shift which he desperatly needs - I'm long beyond caring about this incarnation of him that much.

Plus, while Randy wasn't acting well, he wasn't mailing it in - and invested Orton is incredible

Randy is bad. No defending that. Only thing I can think of when it comes to timing is Randy didn't want it to be about winning the Rumble and wanted the turn to be more personal, so he needed to delay it a few weeks.

I really hope AJ gets to be in a triple threat.

  9. Story wise it makes no sense

That worked for Jericho. Because the current iteration Jericho at its core is a lovable endearing father figure who watching get bamboozled by his "best friend" Kevin Owens just adds to the charm of the character.

But Bray just looks like a chump who is either too stupid or too proud to be a truly formidable threat. Sure, we'll get to see some good acting from Bray and hopefully some interesting character development, but I feel like at the end of the day at best Bray will be back to where he started when if booked differently this could've made him so much more.

  11. I kind of feel like this kills Harper's momentum somewhat.

Bray as a face would be next level. It was awesome that one night the Wyatt Family turned face last year before Bray got injured again.

there's 0 logic in that though. AJ has no known beef with either guy

Itd make more sense to have an AJ/Luke match

You don't have to have a beef with either guy if a belt is on the line.

    see WM20

He's actually nicely positioned for after WM to face Corbin, or to do something as a tag team with Rowan back. Considering where he was prior to this whole thing, thats a nice boost

Would you just randomly insert Cesaro into the KO/Jericho match? Cause that actually has more backstory than AJ/Bray/Randy.

Only logic is that AJ won the #1 contenders match, but I cant see them inserting him into that match to eat a pinfall and keep the Bray/Randy feud going

It certainly is likely that AJ will be shunted for a match for shane. But this company has abandoned logic before, again with WM20 and Benoit going across brands to challenge for the championship in an already established feud between HHH/HBK.

    I'm just being wishful.

    man, I'm pretty Prestigious

I haven't watched the segment all the way through, but I don't see why you guys are shitting on it from a storytelling perspective. Randy "gave up" his shot so he could get to the Wyatt compound. Now that Bray is softened up, he's back for his title shot. It definitely felt like the beginning of a double turn, with Bray the victim and Randy the psychopath again.

edit: Alright, after watching it all the way through you guys are a little overeager. It wasn't a perfect segment by any means, but it was still solid. Randy's monologuing fluctuated between bad and passable depending on what he was doing. Bray sold the shit out of it and I'm excited to see where he goes from here.

Mike Bennett and Maria reportedly out of TNA now too? Man this has been a rough week for them. Seemed like they were finally heading in a somewhat better direction about a month or two ago. Hardy's were one of the hottest acts around, Dixie no longer with the company, and signed a new deal with Anthem. Now in like 48 hours they've lost the Hardy's, Galloway, Bennett, and Maria. And who knows if the bleeding stops there? I honestly don't know what their next step is at this point, especially if more talent moves on.

    Great Googly Moogly Supporter

It was rushed as fuck and it makes no sense. What changed in the past there weeks to make orton want a title shot again and make him go psycho? Orton didn't even mention Harper and doing this whole plan to take him away from bray...or some bullshit like that.

Now I fucked loved that they finally mentioned sister Abigail....and I loved him burning the place down... but dear God why the fuck was that so long!! I laughed when he went for gas can 3.

In the end....I hate it. It's a waste of so much story building.

I also agree that taking aj out of the match is a real fuck you to Harper who was ACTUALLY starting to get a following
