I think Villians United is somewhat related just done years before, pretty sure it's by Gail Simone. Either way if you like that read her run on Secret Six as @Henry said.

Looks like that arc is a part of the SS trades.

almost done reading wonder woman: earth one and I still don't know how I feel about it. I understand Morrison's intent of recalling Marston's Wonder Woman, but the books obsession with submission kind of weirds me out. Its not even that I think anything in the book is overtly sexist, something is just not sitting with me right. The artwork is at least beautiful.

Yeah, it precedes the Secret Six. My friend had suggested reading VU first to decide if I wanted to read SS. I've largely been enjoying the short series, so I'll likely continue into SS after I read through the other trades I borrowed.

That seems to be a pretty big complaint I've seen in reviews.

The second arc was my favorite of the lot. Ragdoll is such a great character. Really glad Simone continued to use him after SS ended.

OK cool! I'll definitely check it out. Been a fan of everything I've read of Simone's, as limited as it is.

    Reading first:
Wonder Woman: The Circle (will be my first time reading anything for WW)
    Stormwatch
    JLA: New World Order
    JLA: American Dreams
    JLA: Rock of Ages
The Order (Love anything Fraction and this is one I hadn't read)
First 2 trades of Bendis' New Avengers

I absolutely hated JMS's Superman Earth One particularly Volume 2. I didn't even bother with Volume 3.

Picked up the first trade of Paper Girls yesterday, can't wait to read it!

i never got past the first volume of that, so im right there with you. I also didn't really like Lemire's Teen Titans Earth One, even though im a HUGE Lemire fan. There was absolutely no substance to it, and it just felt like a copy of Marvel's Runaways. I feel all these earth one's have left a lot more to be desired.

For a guy who claims to love Superman JMS seems to have no understanding of the character at all.

I still remember the disaster that his Superman: Grounded story was. The guy does not get Superman AT ALL.

Never knew who Ragdoll was previously but loved him in SS, forgot he was also in Batgirl. Really need to re-read that series.

As someone who hates the character of Superman, Earth One is the only story i've read that I enjoyed. Granted i haven't read All-Star Superman but own it.

@Tim I know, i'm the worst, i've had it for years and just haven't been in the mood to read Superman :pantherworried:

Oh and also I have to get my mind in the right mood for Morrison so there's also that.

So the more I think about WW earth one, the more I think the main problem hinges on Paquette's art. Nothing about his art is overly sexualized like something you would see from a Greg Land comic, but I do think his art is a tad to "Glamorous" for the content of this book. Just looking at the opening pages with Hercules, I don't think his art portrays properly how horrifying an event that would be. Everything in this book just feels like "Male Fantasy". Maybe the problem is more with Morrison's script but when you have panels of just half naked women pouring drinks over each other bodies just in the background, it completely loses the point.

He is a Simone creation. I've always loved her original characters.

the second volume was so bad. The prostitute neighbor storyline that seems like a writer fantasy, terrible villian designs, Clark is moody and bratty, not inspiring at all. He takes a guy and drops him off (to his death seemingly) in the freezing cold. Bullshit book.

I'm a big time X-Men fan and I don't know why I am only now getting around to reading it considering how big it seems to be. I am half way through the arc and I really enjoy it. Having read mixed reviews caused to me to go into it pretty leveled headed which didn't hurt.

I haven't been caught up with comics in years. Would you recommend any recent X-Men arcs?

Finished the first New 52 Flash trade... Which ends pretty abruptly. Ah. I've made two InStockTrades orders in the past month and am going to a con this weekend, so I can't justify ordering the rest now, but it kills me to not have it!

I read up through issue 38. There's two more issues in that story line I believe so I might read those and then call it quits. The Manapul/Buccellato issues were definitely better imo than the second creative team they put on it.

Is that the Manapul book? He's a great, great artist but I think a cowriter would have helped. I did enjoy the book for the most part.

@J.Dick I'm pretty sure BB co-write the entire run with him.
