i do like after midnight a lot, and you know i'm going to take this opportunity to make a list in the blink thread

1. san diego
2. after midnight
3. bored to death
4. cynical

I can definitely back this list up my man. Pretty much mine. Although it kills me to leave out Ghost, Up All Night (pretty much the Neighbourhoods songs where MT&T were in the writing room / studio together

 

I love San Diego, but when I first heard it, I felt like the chorus sounded verrryyyy similar to another song (or songs) but to this day it hasn't come to me nor popped up in one of my playlists, so I've concluded that it's original as of now

 

it definitely has a sense of familiarity to it, but i can't think of any specific song either

 

The intros to Bored to Death and San Diego are very similar

 

Sums it all up. Me and all my friends were huge into Blink back in the day. Pretty much obsessed. When they reunited we went to 4 shows on that first summer tour. Then Up All Night came out and they were pretty indifferent to it. They never even picked up Neighborhoods. Didn't even know Dogs Eating Dogs existed. Some of my friends didn't even know Neighborhoods existed. Then Bored to Death came on the radio and they were all Blink fanatics again. They are in love with California too, and have even said they think She's Out of Her Mind is one of their favorite Blink songs.

Ugh... "Natives"

That song has always really bothered me. I don't really know why though.

 

After Midnight is the best song Tom Delonge has been a part of since 2003, but I would easily take half of the songs on California over it.

 

I love it lol. Only thing about it that bothered me was the obvious tom ripping his own riff off from the AvA song Young London, but I got over it

 

Only thing about Natives that bothers me is how bad Tom's guitar sounds at the beginning. I wouldn't mind hearing how that song would sound with clean Feldmann production. Still love that song though.

 

mark sounds really lifeless to me on the chorus. holds the song back for me

 

Confession.. I listen to I-empire more than Neighbourhoods despite being a big fan of 80% of Neighbourhoods

 

The whole song sounds lifeless.

And I totally agree with whoever said Tom's guitar on the intro sounds horrible.

 

PS: I went to Crossroads again lastnight. No Travis sighting this time... ha

 

I love Natives

 

I don't think the chorus of Natives matches the verse. It sounds weird. I hate the drum beat in the chorus too.

Not a bad confession. I-Empire is an excellent album.

 

It's a good album, and the last one of AvA where I liked pretty much the whole album so not a bad confession lol.
