AJ has been retweeting and favouriting a lot of TDS stuff lately. I know they'll never get back together but I can't help but think "maybe" whenever I see it.

 

I was under the assumption he had something going on with Will Noon. He had posted a couple pictures of writing/recording with him. Maybe it was just a guest spot for something.

 

I hope he does something, but I'm not sure it will be quite as good as TDS. There was something special about the mix of AJ's lyrics and the spacey soaring musicianship of those first two records.

 

The repress sounds just fine. A lot better than the original and the War Paint press.

 

A lot of weirdness going on between AJ, Tyler, and Bryan on social media lately. The three dudes seem to have reconnected. Bryan posted a video of Tyler playing drums. Tyler saying how he's missed AJ, also Tyler purchasing a new drum set.

Hope it's something TDS related without Cody hahaha

 

It'd be perfect. Never hear about Cody anymore, not sure if it's because people stopped covering him or he finally decided to get some help and lay low for a bit.

 

The last thing I heard from him was back when his roommate accused him of stealing all his shit, and I think he got arrested. Never heard the outcome of that so it's possible he's just in jail I guess?

I'm seeing Bryan in a couple weeks at a show Dreamcatcher is playing, and he knows me. Maybe I can get some info out

 

I really hope it's a Dangerous Summer reunion minus Cody.

 

I was just thinking about how AJ needs to get back into music, I'd be so down for a TDS reunion

 

I've been sort of falling AJ.....he seems to be have transitioned and stabilized his life nicely since moving to LA and raising a kid. I think he might be in a good spot that allows him to get back into music.

This was in response to a response to a tweet about The Dangerous Summer getting back together (original tweet seems to have been deleted now though).

Would def be up for them being back, preferably with new material though.

 

I've just finally signed up to Chorus just so I can discuss my love for this band, but also, how I was sort of lucky to not really follow the drama and issues they had at the time. I'm from the UK so kinda feel like a minority in terms of there aren't many people over here who have heard this fantastic band.

I remember back in 07, the twilight days of myspace, I stumbled on a band called the dangerous summer. Their song, 'this permanent rain' began playing, and then a song called 'of confidence' and 'wake up' (which I still regard as their best)
I was hooked so downloaded the EP. That winter I listened to them on every run, in the snow, in the cold, it was great, and I associated them with one of the best years of my life.

A year and a half later, I'd just broken up with my girlfriend after a turbulent time in my first year at University and after browsing a website called absolute punk, I discovered that a band I'd really liked had released an album called 'reach for the sun' - Wow what an album, what a follow up. 'this next years gonna burn a hole in me' really hit home. But it made me appreciate a great summer, and now I associate that summer with this band.

When Warpaint was released I thought it was fantastic, Siren, Waves, No ones gonna need you more - Not one bad song, but golden record never really stuck with me...

I really hope to hear some more music from AJ, but at the same time, I'd hate for the memory I have of this band tarnished, because, from my own experience and from reading other posts on here, its a band that's music you really associate and relate to in your life. I'd hate for that to end miserably

 

Welcome to the forums, and nice to see a fellow UK TDS fan! I only saw them live once so it would be amazing to get to again.

Aaaand AJ just tweeted Ben again. Really trying to not get my hopes up.

 

Is there somewhere I can read a rundown on why exactly everyone on the planet hates Cody from TDS? I've never really understood but I assume there's good reason.

He's done some pretty shady shit to a lot of people (ripped Ben from YMAEWK off on t shirts, scammed TDS fans with merch / lyric books) and is also a generally shitty dude. He used to say a lot of dumb stuff on Facebook and also had an incident where he made the girl from the narrative uncomfortable on warped tour. List goes on and on but he seems to have fallen off the face of the planet, doesn't even update his Facebook anymore.


Also from AJ / Tyler's Facebook it really looks like this may be happening in some shape or form soon.

 

Well, and there's been much much more hahh, as far as I'm always for giving people second chances, that guy is just genuinely a piece of shit, which is too bad. I'd be so glad to hear some new TDS, preferably without him so they could also enjoy it and stay for longer.

 

@Maybevictor I haven't heard about that Warped Tour incident, and Suzie from The Narrative is just the best person, I'm not sure if it's worth for me to dig into the situation then. But yeah, fuck that guy, hopefully I'm not gonna have to support him in any way if TDS comes back with him on board.

 

There have been many incidents on tour with other bands and other incidents away from touring that are just really unfortunate. Also, he had a tendency to lash out on websites or social media whenever there was negative TDS news or posts. The guy is just simply an immature jerk. You would hear these negative stories and than see his behavior online and be like, "yep, this guy is not pleasant". Luckily, I didn't enjoy this band the way a lot of people did, so I never really felt conflicted. They did have some good songs, but not nearly worth the baggage that came with it. He wasn't the band's only issue, but his issues always managed to be front and center, which is also a separate problem. I'm sure @Jason Tate could go through a laundry list of incidents with Cody. Quite simply, he was not a good dude.

 

He's the single worst band member I've ever interacted with.
