    My recipes are pretty basic. I make tacos, omelettes, spaghetti, and pulled pork. Everything else is experimenting or variation on those

  5. I love making pastas. I've also made cheesy chicken and rice, this "healthy" rice, nachos, bibimbap, yummy hawaiian macaroni salad, and I want to try to make tteoktbokki sometime, but I know I'll fail.

    Got some wisdom tooth business dealt with a couple days ago and now, unsurprisingly, I'm in horrendous pain and can't comfortably eat anything without wanting to shoot myself in the brain. Seeing this thread and all the delicious things contained herein only adds to my anguish. So, because I am the most well-loved member of this forum, nay entire planet, I humbly request, nay arrogantly demand, that this thread be locked, nay deleted, until further notice.

    Well that's no fun. I (almost) feel your pain though. I almost had mine removed last month.

    Thankfully, the discomfort subsided. For now.

    I was actually about to send this to a friend, but I'll post here as @Jason Tate brought up sharing recipes around here. It's for nut-crusted fish, something my girlfriend and I have been doing a lot as a really tasty alternative to breading. I pieced together parts of other recipes to kinda make my own out of it all. We've been using tilapia,as TJ's has fresh tilapia always, but we have also used chicken, and other fish would work as well. Same goes for the nuts, try different combinations, we did almond + pecans before, but macadamia nuts add a lot to it.

    Nut-Crusted Tilapia
    • 2 tilapia filets
    • 1 egg (or two egg whites)
    • 1/4 cup almonds
    • 1/4 cup macadamia nuts
    • 2 tablespoon parmesan cheese
    • 1 teaspoon pepper
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • flour

    1. Pre-heat oven at 425
    2. Make the nut crust in a food processor: Throw in both nuts, the parmesan cheese, plus salt and pepper.
    3. Dip dry filets in flour
    4. Dip flour-d filet's in one mixed egg (or 2 egg whites)
    5. Dip flour-d & egg-d filets in the nut mixture
    6. Place on an oiled sheet pan, bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway.
    7. Eat it, ya hungry animal you

    Last week after class, I was feeling a bit hungry and so I grabbed a pack of prosciutto and some chips and began wrapping it around the chips. Not bad.

    speak of the devil, i made bibimbop for my lunches this week. zucchini, soy sprouts, spinach, shiitake mushrooms, bulgogi marinated beef, and of course quinoa. not pictured is the fermented soy chili sauce that goes with it.

    I've read too much about Tilapia and I haven't eaten any in a looooong time. It's the only fish my sister will eat and she won't let me tell her about the articles I've read.

    Not really. The only thing I have ever really heard is that there's some kind of dye to make them pink? I've caught and eaten salmon camping and it was the same color so I don't really know what that's about lol I eat salmon alllll the time.
