Great album and I think it was one of the first to incorporate clean vocals and where they went away from their older sound.

I listened to Hidden Hands of... so many times I can't count.

It got me into a lot of other bands too, in that it was a total gateway record into death metal. Also, I got into Coliseum through John Henry wearing one of their t-shirts in a photo in the album art ha.

I never really listened to SS before, but I always liked All Shall Perish and Eddie, so I checked out the new Suicide Silence album. Wow, this is NOT good. Not sure what they were going for, but this not what I was expecting at all and it's just not very good.

 

Wow! I was just about to post about their new song Conformity I heard on SiriusXM.
It's pretty bad and sounds like a Slipknot B-side even Corey Taylor was afraid to release.

 

Yeah, dude. I think there might have been like 3 heavy songs on the album. I'm not even complaining about it not being heavy... it's just not good. I dunno. Maybe it's just not for me, but I don't imagine a lot of people are gonna be into it.

 

You should check out Heaven Shall Burn. There are a lot of similarities to Darkest Hour. Plus their lyrics are great and politically charged.

Literally have the remastered version of Born of Osiris's New Reign in my hand. So pumped!

 

Did they remaster the original record, or did they re-record the songs?

 

My bad, they re-recorded it with the current lineup. Lee is such a beast on guitar, although Jason Richardson is amazing as well.

 

It's all good. I'm interested to hear it then.

I wasn't a fan when After The Burial re-recorded some of their early stuff, but it's still cool when bands bring new life to old music.

 

Unearthly Trance, Power Trip, Immolation, and Hark all releasing new albums today. Fuck. Also, the new Suicide Silence is astoundingly bad. Like, I knew it was getting flak and I've never liked this band anyway but jesus this is some real dogshit.

 

The SS record is unreal. I'm just astonished that anyone thought it was something that should be released.
