i thought The Shallows was going to be terrible and it turned out good so i'm not so quick to count this one out

I will admit, I think The Shallows looks hilariously stupid. Just the premise. I used up my disbelief with Jaws.

Speaking of which Jaws 1-4 are expiring on Netflix

So I need to get through the sequels

The shallows idk I just think that premise is usually limited. Like once you've seen a stranded shark attack movie you've kinda seen them all? Like it was okay but I was bored

I will most likely be screening Get Out tonight or tomorrow for work so, I shall report back

  7. Inter-cutting it with footage from other films/tv confused me, but there's this too.

    Will be watching.

  9. Ok, apparently these are old promos that were dug up and made the rounds today. First one is an original promo for the series, and the featurette is some kind of proof of concept video with M. Night explaining his plans for the originally planned TNT horror block. Tales from the Crypt series isn't completely dead, but it's been put on hold indefinitely (since last December). Sorry for the confusion.

  11. What movie is that horse clip from?

  12. According to what I've read, series production came to a halt because of rights issues. Also, the promos weren't released through TNT's youtube channel or social media. Sounds like it's up in the air at this point.

    The Cell.

If CBS was able to bring back Tales from the Cryptkeeper, TNT should be able to bring back Tales from the Crypt

Get Out was great. Peele definitely knows how to ratchet tension and the acting was great. I highly recommend steering clear of reviews and trailers.

I hope it's the one in 2011 because that was the best version.

The Hallow was pretty good. always love folk horror.

but, i think it tipped its hand too early with Adam's transformation. ultimately i think it took away from characterization opportunities, especially as it occurred so relatively early. cool effects, though.

Absolutely! Some of the best I've seen. IWhen I think practical creatures, I think Evil Dead, An American Werewolf in London, and The Fly, but The Thing might be the first that comes to mind from now on. Those movies are all technical marvels to me, but something about each time the creature showed itself felt especially terrifying and powerful on a visceral level here
