Just discovered this band through another thread on Chorus. I'm digging it a lot. Thought others might like it too...

Definitely a hardcore band but I agree with the label in that it's an older style like Harvest, etc. What thread did you discover this in? Also, people in the Hardcore thread might like this as well.

Yeah, they probably lean more to hardcore or metalcore, but whatever. It's just good. I found it in the "New albums released this week" thread.

Just got my plane tickets booked for Maryland Deathfest in May. It's gonna be a barn burner for sure.

Oh I meant they are hardcore is a good thing. These days you label something as metalcore and people immediately turn the other way. Either way, its really good and thanks for sharing it!

A song titled "Digital Prison" has to be a Korn cover

Right? He seems to know what he's doing and has, I'm sure, useful insight into recording and mic'ing your rig, but at the same time he absolutely does not let up from the same basic tired jokes and internet tough guy persona. The whole "bass players are stupid and drummers are useless" gag was funny maybe once, but he just hammers that shit into the ground.

That whole series where he reads messages from stupid or shitty musicians being dicks to their engineers is pretty amusing sometimes, though. But yeah. He can be funny and educational at times, but when he's not, he's just embarrassing to watch.

I'll be at the Chicago show on Thursday. The entire lineup is stacked from top to bottom. I'm actually a little more excited for Rotten Sound than anyone else...

Yeah the show begins at like 5:30, because of four opening bands, hahahaha. I got a friend's birthday thing at 6pm I'm hitting up first, so I'll probably miss first two opening bands before getting there.

The opening acts on that tour are fairly solid though. My date gets Tombs, Ringworm and Rivers of Nihil.

Oof. Any non-grind/hardcore/powerviolence shows like more than five bands should be illegal. We are just getting the touring package here which is nice. Still might miss Rivers of Nihil though because of work though.

Edit: Totally thought you meant 4 local openers, not 4 opening bands period. My B.

I really liked the last Rivers of Nihil album. A bit long though.

I think Ringworm will keep touring into their 90's. They were around before most of their peers. Such a solid band though and I own every single one of their albums.

Tombs doesn't really fit on the bill because they are more "doomy" I guess, lol but they are great nonetheless.

I hope Ringworm keeps going that long. I'm fairly new to them but I dig a lot of their stuff.

Check out Human Furnace's solo album. It's under them moniker Holyghost. It's pretty industrial and is similar to bands like Greymachine or Godflesh.

I'll give it a shot. I'm not into a lot of industrial stuff, but there is some stuff that I enjoy. Thanks for the rec.

I've been listening to Darkest Hour in prep for the show tomorrow, and I forgot how awesome of an opener Doomsayer is. The verse riff that starts around 1:05 is one of my favorite ones in metal from that era.

yeah that's one of my favorite darkest hour tracks, and fucking slays as an opener.
