Thanks! I'm surprised I get so many listens via the Mac, but I know a lot of podcast players offer a Mac app, just not Overcast, which is what I use haha. But I honestly just appreciate anyone listening/spreading the word regardless of iTunes stuff, so thanks! Hope you enjoy it.

 

Marvel Comics Solicitations for May 2017

Man I really do not get the love for Gwenpool. She has SquirrelGirl-esque fanbase okay thats fine. Let them keep having her in her own universe in her book. I do not understand why she needs to pop up literally as a guest character in like every book possible.

 

I don't read enough Marvel anymore to notice her in anything but her own book. Where else has she popped up?

 

Spider-Man, Champions, Ms. Marvel, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, Howard the Duck, and I'm definitely forgetting something. She also headlined like 2 Holiday specials which take place in the 616, which isn't as big of a deal, but I still just don't get it.

 

Ahh okay. I only read Ms. Marvel and Howard the Duck. Howard makes sense since it is where she first appears.

 

When was she in Ms Marvel or Spider-Man? I legit don't remember either happening in their titles.

 

I was basing it off covers and solicits, and the fact that in Champions she mentioned that she had already met both of them. So I might be wrong.

 

I'm pretty sure she met them in her main series, 'cause I'm following their solo books and haven't seen her in either. Plus, I remember there being a Gwenpool cover with Miles on it. Which means she really hasn't popped up all that much yet outside of her own headlined stories.

I can agree that her showing up in Champions is a weird and probably overall bad decision, but that's really the only awkward cameo I know of for her.

 

Alot of times, what's on the cover is appropriate of its contents

Guess who keeps spending money? Bought 3 Johns books today. GL: Revenge of the Green Lanterns, GL: Wanted: Hal Jordan, and Teen Titans: Family Lost. The shop owner was nice enough to put Batman Inc, and then volumes one and two of the N52 Batman Inc run on hold for me so I can attempt to make some money before buying more comics. And before the shop closes hopefully haha.

Also, I got an email with a code for a free month of MU for a friend. First one to either reply to this or DM me can have it.

 

Listened to the podcast. Already talked to Derek about it. Good work from both of you, I knew nothing about it not know much about Marvel and I'm kinda interested in it now.

Also I think you should have more people with Southern Drawls on the pod

Id love a free month of MU, been meaning to check it out if someone hasn't asked yet! Does it add new stuff on NCBD? Would help with reviews for Talking Comics.

 

Not yet! It's all yours. I'll DM it to you. And they add new stuff weekly, but they're 6 months behind release schedule so that people will actually buy the current stuff, so won't help with reviews, unfortunately.

 

DC is doing something pretty great! The next Batman trade won't include the monster story. That will be released as a collection in hardcover. I hope that they do this with all of their books, going forward.

 

So the Night of the Monster Men stuff isn't going to be in it? Will I need to read that stuff to read the I Am Suicide arc?
