I personally hope they leave Bohemian in since I haven't seen them do it live yet (last time I saw them was early 2014). I bet they will expand setlist to at least 20 songs. They headlined twice in Cleveland in 2014 and they played a 21 song set and a 20 song set.

 

Damn, totally forgot about the time in 2011 when fun. was opening for Panic and they played "c'mon" during Panic's set. Unbelievable.

 

In AltPress, Brendon said they were doing a medley of old songs and then a medley of songs he's been into recently.

 

So, taking a page out of Twenty One Pilots book?

Yes, Tyler has been doing that since like 2011. They always do a 7-10 minute medley of their older songs and then they always do a medley of current pop song covers intertwined together.

 

Hm, go figure!

 

Oh that's cool though. That's a great way for bands like them to handle that. Give a little taste of the old days, but still cater to their newer (bigger) audiences. Makes sense, and if it means I get to hear more older songs, even if just in part, then I'm all about it.

I'm surprised at how short their setlists are in the first place for a band of their nature. 20-22 would be a good zone for them to aim for.

 

Wow I just realized how long it's been since I've been to a full blown Panic! headlining tour date. This'll be my 6th time seeing them, and of those times, 2 were radio shows (shorter setlist), 1 was a one off show during the Fall Out Boy/Panic/Twenty One Pilots tour, and 1 was the Weezer co-headliner, so the only time I saw them on a traditional tour was the Vices & Virtues tour with fun way back in June 2011 (also my first time seeing them). I definitely do hope they play a little longer of a set. I'd expect around 20 this tour.

 

I'm not stoked that the show I'm going to is the first of the tour. I'm the kind to visit setlist.fm before a show but I guess this time around I'll be the one reporting back. Really hoping they drop Bohemian Rhapsody though!

 

I stated earlier, the last two times they truly had headlining shows in Cleveland (2014), they were at 21 songs and 20 songs. I'd expect between 20 and 22 songs.

 

I don't see what it has anything to do with TOP, they didn't invent them. Lots of bands have done them, including Fall Out Boy. Panic did a medley of Fever songs on the Rock Band Live Tour several years ago, so it's not even a new concept for them.

 

They can literally play anything and I will be happy, but I do not want to see Bohemian Rhapsody again. I have seen it on three separate tours now for a total of 5 times and I just want them to stop playing it. Also okay if Time to Dance gets swapped out for another old song. Some other cuts I'd love to hear return would be Hurricane, Memories, and Nicotine. House of Memories and/or The Good, The Bad, and the Dirty would be a good add.

I also wonder if they'd ever do a full album, like play DOAB from start to finish. It's a short enough album that I think it could work well with a 2nd set of 10 or so other songs.

 

Yeah, but again, I think all those arenas with an 18k capacity are MAX capacity (like if you sell the arena all the way around). For most tours, I think they cap out at 10-12k since a section of the arena is curtained off. Nonetheless, still impressive this guy can sell these venues out 10 years after they first peaked.

 

The fact that the arena floors are all seated instead of GA makes a huge difference in capacity. I'm really not sure what the reasoning behind that was...if it was on purpose to make the capacity smaller, or if they wanted to avoid the drama of people camping out overnight. Either way, I think having the all-seated floor is going to affect the energy at these shows. When FOB did seats instead of GA on Wintour, I thought it killed the vibe for most of the night.

 

Was it mostly seats on Wintour? I went to Hollywood, FL and it was all GA on the floor.

 

I went to the Phoenix date and it was the same, all floor.

 

I would never cut Time to Dance again because the high notes Brendon does on that song add a lot to it I think. The reactions from the fans when he hits them are awesome.

 

I'm bummed about having actual seats on the floor. Only other time I had actual seats on the floor was for RHCP and it was a major buzzkill.

 

I went to the Chicago show, and had tickets to the Colorado Springs show (canceled due to weather) and both had a small GA pit within the "V" of the stage, and the back half of the arena was all floor. It seemed most shows on that tour were that same way.

Mine was the small pit in the walkway and the entire floor behind the walkway was GA as well. Interesting that they mixed it up as far as what shows had GA floors and which had seats

 

Going tomorrow night to the CT date. Driving from central NJ. Also a surprise for the wife (she has no idea). Should be fun.

Saw them only once in Dec 2015 in Wilmington, NC at a very small amphitheatre. Great show. I've loved Panic! since Fever. I know a lot of you are calling for Time to Dance to be dropped, but it's a timeless classic. I'd be very surprised.

I do hope they play a majority of DOAB though.

 

I'll be surprised if there's no Fever on the setlist. It's really popular with the newer fan base as well as (obviously) the old.
