I'm watching the NBA Talent Challenge and this is legit amazing.

All I want now is the NHL to have something like this but the NHL players are boring.

 

I have no idea what I want from the Flyers at this point in the season. I don't know if they need to off load and look fresh, or just keep plodding to the bottom of the rankings. With the draft class looking pretty damn awful, it all seems lose/lose.

 

Fantasy hockey question, anyone's thoughts on this trade?

I give: Couture, Evander Kane, Scandella, Luongo
I get: Pietrangelo, Dubnyk

My team currently:
C: Couture, Pavelski (C/RW), Schenn (C/LW), K. Hayes (C/RW)
LW: Pacioretty, Huberdeau, E. Kane, N. Foligno (LW/RW)
RW: P. Kane, Stone, Niederreiter (LW/RW), C. Sheary (LW/RW)
D: Giordano, Markov, Cole, Scandella
G: Crawford, Luongo

My thought process is that I have a lot of forwards with value and my D is weak. There's not a goalie worth shit available off waivers, so why not just grab a top notch one for a very powerful duo.

Then with the two roster spots I free up on this trade I can add a defenseman (targeting Orlov) and a forward until Sheary returns.

 

@ClarettsGreyGoose Dubnyk is def. an upgrade, but would they take Nino instead of Kane?

 

What are the categories?

 

G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, BLK, W, GAA, SV%, SHO

I usually crush across the skater categories and my goalie categories are up and down

 

I think it's worth it, then. I'd like a better D than Piets if possible, but at a minimum, he'll increase your BLK totals. Dubnyk is a top 3 goalie this year, so that's a huge upgrade from Luongo, who looks like he could be losing starts to Reimer anyway.

Losing Kane and Couture is tough, but since SOG and HIT aren't categories, they're not a huge loss... and you have pure goal scorers in Kane, Pavelski, and Patches regardless.

 

Yeah I swung a trade for Pavelski earlier this year when I was hurting for goals and he's been much better than Couture.

 

if the sharks lose to the coyotes tonight, they will be 1-4 to them this season.

He's certainly a one of a kind player. So much fun to watch, I wish he wasn't out west so I could watch more frequently

Talbot's a dark horse Vezina candidate this year. Dubnyk or Holtby will probably win it but he's been so good & has handled an enormous workload.

 

I'd like to blame the bye week for this loss but we threw up a season high in total shot attempts and attempts at 5 on 5. Talbot doing serious work
