My friend's Mom use to tell me she'd get visits from the Native American (who apparently died there in the 1600s) known in the "lore' of the mystery behind the 'bottomless lake" here in Long Island - Lake Ronkonkoma. Said she'd see em looking in the window of her house lol.
Between Lake Ronkonkoma, Amityville, & Pilgrim State there's plenty of Ghost and creepy related things here in Long Island.

Anyone curious of the story (this was just a quick google): The Legends of Lake Ronkonkoma

I posted something before about how a person who has passed appearing in your dream they're probably visiting you, a guy I was fb friends with that passed a year ago was in my dream last night. I didn't really know the guy so I find it really weird and strange if his spirit was visiting me. Could that even be possible?

Death of JonBenét Ramsey - Wikipedia
Copied summary from the thread it was posted in on 4chan:
    >Little girl does really good in Beauty pageants
    >Turns up missing one day
    >Ransom note appears, asking for almost the exact amount of money her dad made in bonuses earlier. Tells parents not to call the cops
    >Mom freaks out and calls the cops
    >Find daughter's dead body in the basement.
    >She was strangled, had her skull cracked, somebody fingered her
    >Police think parents killed her at first, but decide they didn't do it
    >Blood found in the girls panties doesn't match anyone involved in the case, doesn't match the girl
    >Police later figure out that more than 40 sex offenders lived in the neighborhood

I don't pay stuff like ghosts much mind, but this is the kind of thing that really gets under my skin. It always bums me out to think of what victims like this went through in their last few hours. When a case is unsolved like this, and we don't have answers and want to know what happened, I sometimes forget that there was actually a person's experience that led to this unsolved matter, you know? Like, this girl went through some fucking shit. She had the answers. And now she's gone. And whatever happened to her - whether it was her brother, her parents, a stranger - it fucking terrifies me to think that she went through that. It's hard to explain, but someone out there has to relate to the dread I'm feeling thinking about it. It's fascinating to think about, but jesus...

Personally from what I've read online and what I've heard on crime podcasts I tend to believe it was most likely her brother killed her and then the parents covered it up. The blood thing is the only thing that makes me doubt that theory. I doubt we'll ever find out what happened though unless someone confesses to it.

I love unsolved murder cases like that though, they're proper intriguing. I've recently gotten well into My Favourite Muder, Last Podcast on The Left and Casefile.

Interesting, I always thought the brother was least likely the case. But there's so many "maybes" in this case that you never know. I definitely thought the mom knew something and may have been involved, but the whole "wet the bed and got angry" motive kinda throws me off. That reason kind of reminds me of the theory the detective in the Amanda Knox case gave, saying that she killed Meredith Kercher when Meredith confronted her about her sexual lifestyle, seems dumb and not backed by any proof

  12. One night when all the lights were out in my room, I opened up snap to watch some stories while laying in bed, and the thought of me opening up the camera and a filter popping up on the black nothingness freaked me out so hard that I closed it and watched a New Found Glory music video just to lighten my mood lol

It's so freaky. I was like it must be registering the lamp or something but I couldn't get it to do it again. That shit was in some way paranormal lol

Got sleep paralysis a couple nights ago. It feels so wrong. The only thing I can compare it to is that it feels like possession (I know it's not). Like it's definitely not just "shit, I can't move", there's a specific feeling and sensation that accompanies it that's hard to describe.

Also I have (but not always) experienced the sensation of either being dragged off of my bed or floating up towards the ceiling, arms bent back. There's a very strange sense of vibration, as if the room is vibrating -- it's somewhat audible and somewhat physical. Weirdest shit ever.

    I'm really fascinated by it.

  16. Lucky enough to have not experienced this in a few months but it used to happen pretty frequently. Started happening about 4 years back when I started attempting to lucid dream. Literally some of the scariest moments of my life :(

The morning after I experience one I have scratches all over my body mainly on my face and throat. Mine feel like some dark figure is floating over me and making a weird sound I can't get away from. I don't have them as frequently anymore thank you god.

Even though I've experienced it countless times I still have trouble getting through them. Sometimes my brain just goes into full panic mode and I literally think I'm dying. It's a terrible feeling.

wtfffff. I get the sound thing, super weird. I've seen figures, heard voices before, but that's pretty rare.

I find them interesting too. Now I just look for the tell that it's fake like the layout of my room being wrong.

I think I only had it like once when I was really little and it freaked me out so bad. Afterwards I begged my parents to let me sleep in their room for like a week lol Chicken shit for life! But I was always really anxious anyway because I swear that house was haunted so nighttime was not good for me period (and I'm afraid of the dark.....which I think is because of that damn house).

My sister used to have really strange ones where she would be sitting up. Our rooms were down the hall from each other and I heard her crying/whimpering one night so I went to her room to check on her.

She was sitting on the edge of her bed and I sat beside her and put my arms around her to comfort her or whatever. I guess touching her scared/woke her up and she snapped her head up and back and I bit my tongue hard enough to have to get stitches.

The doc who stitched me up told us that it sounded like sleep paralysis. Needless to say I left her alone from then on lol

The first time it happened I thought I had died in my sleep and cried when I woke up. I've had whispering quite a few times. One time a face materialized on my computer screen, which I had fallen asleep next to while watching something.

I made the mistake of reading up on how to escape a fit of it and wound up in a weird state where I was still in sleep paralysis but I left my body. Craziest thing I've ever experienced, I realize how dumb it sounds but that's the only way I can describe it hah.
