    Question for you guys:

I bought a new mac and it's got less storage than my older one. I'm now noticing that although most of my stuff lives in the cloud (photos music etc) it also takes up tons of room on my hard drive. is that necessary?

Very clever little command line way to back up a bunch of application settings to Dropbox.

  3. Just got an Apple Watch the other day, and it's really cool! Kind of confusing at first but the notification management on it is great. Now I don't have to shuffle through a bag to see if someone's trying to get a hold of me. It is weird having my wrist bug me to breath and walk around though lol

Hey is there a way to remove something from my recently added list? I accidently deleted an album and immediately readded it and now it's showing up first thing. I usually use the recently added to make sure I listen to newer albums that recently came out.

I'd love to know that too. Both because Apple Music sometimes adds old albums to the recently added and the thought of re-adding old albums that got lost in time and seeing them there makes me cringe.

  7. Random thoughts after the weekend:
    • The new Readkit update is really great. Love finally being able to edit and customize the toolbar just how I want it.
    • Keyboard Maestro remains so vital to so many things I do. I always forget how powerful it is.
    • I really like Taskpaper. The latest use I found: I have a variety of things that I need to do every once in a while (example: update the WordPress core) where I have a list of things I need to do and check off. And then when it's done I want the entire list to be reset so I can do it again when I need it next. It's not something I need repeating on a specific date and it includes things like code edits and copy and pasting changes, so OmniFocus isn't great to just use a template there ... however, creating a clean template in Taskpaper, and then writing a basic AppleScript, I can run the AppleScript program, it'll prompt me which template I want to use, and then copy it, rename it using the current date, put it on my desktop, and open it for me. I can check everything off, delete it, and I'm reset for whenever I need that template again. Really helpful.

  8. A friend and I acquired an old snowball iMac the other day. Really cool to see that old Apple design and how far it has come.

Upgraded from an iPhone 6 to a 7 Plus yesterday, and it's such a life changing experience.

The update to the Overcast app is pretty cool.

On a side note, ended up making the jump to T-Mobile. Instead of going with another 7 Plus, decided to go with the SE just to save some money until the new phones drop this fall. Definitely enjoyed the larger screen from the 7 Plus, but just for portability sake, excited to go back to something smaller. The SE appears to have been a sleeper hit too with a lot of people. Curious if they're going to update that every two years with the recycled ideas from the newer generation phones. Already could see for a SE 2 to have water proofing, 3D touch, and the upgrade to the A10 chip.

I get they probably have some convoluted market strategy for releasing the SE separately, but boy do I wish they'd just release an SE-sized iteration with future phone releases. It's maddening how Apple makes you weigh so many things that aren't size when picking a damn device. I'm hoping the new iPad lineup updates the mini as well.

Can't wait until I update this September from my 6. It's going to feel magical.

Yeah not sure what's going to happen there. At the time some people were saying it was going to be a one off. Then it got really popular and well received. Now looks like they may be releasing a 128GB version next month. Haha best guess at this point would be every two year release in March if decided to keep it in the lineup. It would be awesome though if they included a 4 inch in their lineup though with the fall releases.

regardless of what schedule they do i hope they at least align all the features. seems silly to make consumers choose between "key" features like 3D touch or storage capacity and not having to carry a brick. im very bitter about the growth of phones haha

Can't go wrong with The 1975 and AirPods.

The speed alone is enough. And it really is not that much bigger compared to the normal model so it really isn't any more difficult to use one handed, at least for me.

Thanks. I've looked at a few sites like that but I don't see a way to set my location on that one.

So I dl'd an album, and it refuses to play on my iPod nano touch. It plays on my iTunes library in my comp though. I've re downloaded/re installed them to iTunes, and my iPod several times. Apple support said I should restore my iPod. Has anyone ever had this issue?

Yeah, but the file played fine on my computer. So I restored it, and synced it back up. Still wouldn't play. So I just bought the album, and now it works fine :-/
