    I hate spoilers. Supporter

Maybe unpopular, but I like NLAQ just as much as The Season. In some ways I like each better than the other.

    Adore both.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Would probably agree that Movement is my favorite release by a hair.

Thank god that terrible post about ETID being cock rock isn't at the top of the page when I open this thread anymore.

Or the quote of it, rather.

This may be the best opening song on a record ever.

I wish he would get a drummer that put more effort into learning the nuances of the old songs.

Cool, another live video and another post from me complaining about the drummer. I'm annoying myself at this point.

I think it was the tour thread I posted this in, but yeah when I saw them last week their drummer was so weird haha. It was like he heard the songs for the first time five minutes before their set and also hadn't played drums before. He had no dynamic control (slapping the shit out of his hi hat and snare during the verses of Whatever) and at times just played whatever he felt like over a lot of the parts as long as it was in the same time signature, but not in a cool "improvisational" kind of way. He also only had a floor tom and a snare, so his fills were pretty much just spastic snare hits haha.

In that video too, you can hear the bass player get ahead of the band around :31 and can't correct himself until the verse, that also happened a few times at my show.

Sorry I do actually love this band and I'm done ranting now, it was just not a great performance from those two.

That one guitar player that has been with them since at least the audiotree sessions does a great job. Also that was my favorite drummer he's used

  12. Yeah the guitar guy is solid. Sidenote on him, his pedalboard seemed a little excessive for what AGO does but I'd be interested to hear what he does with that stud on his own.

It's disappointing to hear they aren't great live at the moment. I saw them on their tour for the Season (they played the whole record start to finish) in like 2012, and the band was as tight as tight can get. It was friggin fantastic.

That was like 14 band member changes ago, though, so I suppose it's to be expected.

  15. Wish I had seen them back then. Unfortunately I didn't even check out The Season until sometime in early 2013, and even then it didn't totally click for like a year.

Honestly, the greatest gift AP.net ever gave me was the stream of that record before it was released in 2011 (or maybe it had just released? I dunno. Whenever they streamed it.) I was hooked immediately - I listened to it start to finish in my office, and then went home that night and made my wife listen to it start to finish. I just couldn't get enough of it.

I have no idea whose idea it was to stream it, but it was pretty much the best thing ever. I've discovered a lot of bands over the years through here, but that record is at the very top of the list.

The Season leaked on Spotify like a week or two early if I recall. I remember desperately trying to figure out how to rip it and not succeeding..lol.

Kidding :-)I just really fell in love with this band after NLAQ came out. I listened to that album and was like, eh this is okay so I gave The Season a shot and thought it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Not quite sure how I missed out on The Season when it first came out honestly, but glad I found it.

Thats what I thought, but AGO had a video of him drumming on their Instagram the other day, so I wondered if he was drumming for them too?

I remember sending them a link saying "uhh...you guys know that this is up already?" and they got very upset...still don't know who authorized that.
