Chicago might test the water with Butler, but they recently have been reporting they are not going to entertain anything. Plus, I wouldn't count on anything happening with him unless a trade is for another all-star player at his level.

As much as I love D. Wade, he needs to go. He's clearly only with the Bulls for the money and has stated 3 times winning and money will be his deciding factor on staying with or leaving Chicago.

  2. Oh my god please don't trade the pick or Crowder. Crowder is on the best contract in the league

  4. The Celtics should absolutely not trade the Brooklyn pick, their entire bench, and the guy on the best contract in the league for Jimmy Butler, headcase who plays like shit and blames his teammates, and was in the D league 4 years ago. No, absolutely not

  5. sorry the G League*

I don't want them to sell out the rebuild for one big player either, for the record. But the whole basketball world seems obsessed with the idea.

  8. Of course they are, its two huge market teams and a future superstar. But I think it would be awful. Best case we get 2008 and then have to do 2009-2014 again, which, no thank you

I don't think people realize how good jimmy butler is, if his name was Paul George people would be okay with it. I get the debate but you're not going to beat Cleveland for like 4 years and this draft is top loaded with guards so you should absolutely trade the brooklyn pick, not necessarily for butler but you have a billion guards. Stop

Yeah agreed. Why do this whole process and not see what Brown and Rozier and Smart and Yabusele and... can do before you just give them all away?

Just watching the growth guys like Olynyk and Rozier and Smart have made during this season is thrilling. People forget that we're not supposed to even be winning yet. The rebuild is ahead of schedule.

  12. I would absolutely not do that for Paul George either first of all. I'm not necessarily averse to trading the pick but I don't think it should involve 5 players or any important players. Trade back in the draft if necessary.

Also if we're not beating Cleveland for 4 years why would trade a draft pick and all of our young/bench players (who are playing great!) for a 27 year old lol? That's a win now move

  13. Boston shouldn't do that trade because even with Butler they won't beat Cleveland

IT is getting paid like 13 million the next two years, that's basically robbery for a dude who's playing like a top five PG

  16. James Young is such a great meme him playing well is just a cherry on top

  17. Crowder is on like $7.5m/yr until 2020 or 21. Just amazing

Even Bradley at 8 million per year for the next two is ridiculous, gotta love the new CBA

Butler is good. He's probably the closest thing to Kawhi Leonard as far as 2-way players go, but he's not going to make any team an immediate contender. If that was the case, the Bulls would have a much better record. His biggest flaw as a teammate is he doesn't make other players better. He's not a 'healthy' leader (yet). What I mean by that is the dude doesn't influence or motivate and instead, he intimidates. He's done that since becoming Mr. Hollywood.

But if the bulls can deal him in a steal they definitely should, they have no other long term pieces or prospects (maybe Portis?), just to accelerate the rebuild.

Gimme that lottery pick and a forward who can create his own offense. Pretty please.

Also this game is a slog.

They would have to get a GREAT deal for him. I would say they would need another all-star caliber player though. There were talks from Chicago reporters about Andrew Wiggins/Butler. I actually wouldn't mind something like that (don't think it'd happen), but Bulls can always trade McDermott and Taj Gibson for something, which has been discussed and is a little more realistic to happen.

Portis hasn't developed any since last season. Tonight is probably his best game this season.
