This is maybe my favourite record of the year, but it's such a tough listen and I can't listen to it very often, especially as my dad is extremely ill with cancer. There's still something therapeutic about this record when I spin it now and then. It's such a personal record but it makes me feel less alone.

I was mistaken about the song, but it does look like they uploaded a video today pertaining to recording and just the music in general. Very, very cool.

This whole album is particularly painful to listen to right now. But hearing someone else articulate sentiments like

so directly, makes me feel less alone in feeling guilt at not knowing how to spend time with my dad as his illness becomes overwhelming. Jeremy's voice and these songs are one of the few things I have found useful for support and I am grateful.

Songs from this album are so good live too. You can tell how passionate Jeremy is about these songs.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I put this on again today and it's wrecking me as much as the first time I heard it.

Rapture may be my favorite Touché song, and I hope they experiment more in the future like Benediction and Skyscraper too.

  15. File alongside Keep You. As in, incredible incredible record but mostly I literally can't take it

Yeah I love both this and keep you but they're way too draining to be played consistently for me.

  17. Record is heartbreaking for sure but I don't seem to have a huge problem separating the lyrics from the general sonic vibe. Shit still bangs as a hardcore album

I don't really put this in the same group as keep you sound wise. Keep you is grouped with albums like dealer and moving mountains s/t and home or goodness (pick your poison). Stage four is grouped with stuff like personal war, smother, self portrait (or iv). Every album I've listed here is one of the best albums I've ever heard basically touché are more post hardcore/skramz than emo/alternative

Yeah I wasn't saying they sound similar by any means. But them both being about parents passing away at relatively young ages is just tough to stomach some days. Don't get me wrong I still play them, they just aren't in my usual rotation anymore

Depending on the day, this or Worry. were my AOTY for last year. This is one of those records that makes me think "this thing was written for me", but the beauty of it is that a ton of people feel that way. Incredibly personal writing but not too personal to be able to relate my own experiences to. I really do think it's a masterpiece.

funny thing is those records are actually further from skramz (not that they don't show aspects of the genre) than the debut, hah
