Make a nice base gravy of onions, peppers, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, worscheshishdish, tomato paste and garlic. Then add the meat. Sloppy joe heaven

I have a coworker who makes ketchup and ground beef cooked down together as a treat for his wife.

I'm absolutely fascinated by it. I ask about it all the time.

 

Growing up we ate a dish called hamburger meat and gravy.

It was just a mix of white gravy and ground beef that we would ladle over white bread, throw on a dash of salt and pepper and dig in. Served with canned corn.

We loved it. Could go for some right now

 

Growing up, I loved that canned Chunky soup thing that was just meatballs in gravy
