I've reached Adele overexposure to the point where I'm beginning to hate her.

 

Can confirm. The only time I don't hate that song is when it's played during a Wings game.

 

The Hold Steady are the best indie rock band going and their last album is criminally underrated

 

Adding my comment to the discussion above. Aerosmith fucking sucks.

I used to think Aerosmith, and that song in particular were absolutely irredeemable shite. But I listened to their older albums and I was really pleasantly surprised - there's a lot to like in their 70s albums. Worth at least a cursory listen.

I Don't Want To Miss A Thing is still un-defendable though.

 

I literally just listened to I Dont Want To Miss A Thing due to quoting it, and it is still a masterpiece! So many good melodies and the piano/strings add so much to it. Their older stuff is so much better though for sure. Pink/Crazy and that whole era was weird.

I do love Cryin though, even though I wouldn't place it up their with their best.

 

I think Aerosmith have got a lot of great songs scattered throughout all their career but the only album's I can listen to start to finish are Permanent Vacation and Pump.

 

I'd agree they are more of a greatest hits kinda band. Toys in the Attic and Rocks are the two I can listen through without skipping.

 

I just cannot stand his voice. "Dream On" is the only single I can sit through until the end.

 

I need to go back to those earlier albums been ages since I've listened to them in full. They're still an incredible live band though, I saw them the year before last and they were flawless.

 

Ok y'all have killed my heart in here. Aerosmith are waaaaaaaay more than a greatest hits band!! And Rocks is their best album so if you can't listen to that album straight through then I just don't even know what to say!! Hot take: Seasons of Wither is their best song. Nine Lives and Get a Grip are great albums (idk if that is unpopular but it is around people I know so I'm going with it!)

 

Check this version out! It showcases how much better they are live, has his older voice which I like more and has an orchestra backing them. Amazing.

 

I think Get A Grip is good too, but I don't know many people that go to bat for it.

 

Well this just made like 4 months of weekly classic artist posts nobody listened to worth it. Haha

 

By that point, they were a cotton candy band. A pretty damn skilled cotton candy band though, so nothing wrong with that.

 

"What it Takes" is a huge Aerosmith guilty pleasure of mine...

I went like 4 weeks straight of artists with no posts. It just didn't seem worth the work. If people express an interest in me starting them back up again eventually, I'd be happy to.

 

yeah it did seem to fizzle out, I appreciated the effort though

 

They were really great, really enjoyed and appreciated the work it took on your part! Sorry I fell away at the end too, life/work/travelling etc just took up a lot of my time for a while.

 

Last child is my favorite Aerosmith song by a lot
