I went to my favorite taco truck and the burrito tonight was bomb.

It had chicken, rice, cilantro, pico de gallo, jalapeños and avocado sauce so a pretty simple burrito but it just tasted so good altogether.

 

Go get some hot sauce Williams instead.

 

Trying some tacos and menudo at a random taco shop. I've only had menudo out of a can do we'll see how it goes.

 

i can guarantee you it will be better than canned

i want menudo now dammit

 

I had it once at a vegas buffet, too. So basically a bad experience both times.

 

Texture wasn't really a problem but it was kind of bland. I'll keep trying it, though.

 

almost every KFC up here has a buffet.

 

It's so not fair.

 

decided we're going to stay in and make dinner for v-day.
found a recipe for ravioli in a brown butter sauce with walnuts & apples (this one), pairing with a Marechol Foch red from a local winery (Winehaven), then having a dutch baby & mead from the same winery for dessert.


any tips or suggestions/addendums?
really hoping it all comes out nicely.

Made Spanish rice today! Bit too salty but still p good. This is it halfway through

 

Goes great with baby spinach and black beans for a burrito bowl. Avocado goes well in it too if you're feelin fancy.

 

So good.

 

I would add sage to that recipe or thyme or some herb. A few drops of vermouth or brandy will add some nice complexity to your sauce. Also, a small squeeze of lemon over the finished dish will go a long way to making that brown butter sing. What is the ravioli stuffed with?

 

I went to Bethany Beach, DE for valentine's day over the weekend and we had lunch here: Henlopen City Oyster House: Fresh Seafood, Oysters & Beer in Rehoboth Beach. If you ever get the chance to go, go. Exceptional clams, oysters, and seafood. Really, really blown away by how good it was considering the Delaware beaches tend to be littered with touristy restaurants that don't offer decent quality at all. I'm 100% going back for dinner next time I'm in the area.

 

This thread is gonna be the death of me. I'd heard of/forgotten about KFC buffets, but this thread made me go look it up again, and apparently there's one 20 minutes from me. Haven't gone yet, but it's inevitable.
