What do we think. Does blink win a Grammy tomorrow? I fucking hope so.

I'm willing to bet Panic takes the award. Just a gut feeling (although I hope Weezer wins out of the nominees)

 

Yeah idk Panic is platinum already. I think it should be up for pop but I'd bet on them. I think Weezer SHOULD win since that was my highest ranked last year personally. I can't help but be hoping for blink though.

 

I hope so too. By the way, they will be sitting in the first row.

I didn't know this award was presented during the actual show anymore. I haven't bothered watching it in a few years. That makes me hope they win even more now.

 

Same. I haven't really ever watched except when Blink presented to hear the reunion announcement.

Side note reading articles about the Grammies and almost every single one of Them refers to blink as the dick and fart joke band, and one even went to say they shouldn't get nominated without Tom. I went from eye rolls to literally saying WTF at these lol

 

I hope Blink wins obviously, but I would be just as excited if Weezer won. I don't consider Panic rock any more...at least since Vices and Virtues. Plus, I think Brendon Urie is conceded lol. Go Blink.

 

I just want Blink to finally win a Grammy

 

I don't ever watch the Grammy's, but if you're going to throw blink as a nomination I'll watch and root for them even if it's not their most deserving award-winning album in their discography.

 

If Blink were to win a Grammy it would be for the standard awards show stuff of "it being their time" and I think Weezer deserve that a bit more. But then I don't think that album took off to quite the same level as Blink so who knows.

 

Weezer had that HUGE stretch of awful albums though. Granted, if Blink hadn't broke up in '05, maybe they would have had a bunch of awful ones too. Who knows, I guess.

I just like Blink at least 89% more than Weezer so I am biased.

 

I've got a good feeling about tonight.

 

Panic sold the most albums and is more popular with the younger crowd. Weezer is probably seen as more credible ~musically~ but blink is more commercially popular than Weezer and they've both got the longevity to their names. Blink and Panic both did well on radio this year but I don't think Panic will pull the industry votes against those two. But since upsets aren't uncommon it's really anybody's race.

 

Maybe it'll go completely left field and Cage the Elephant will win lol

 

Gojira, Weezer, and Panic deserve it way way way more than Blink, especially if we're comparing their respective albums.

 

Oops, just realized the thread I'm in. I guess this was a hot take.

 

Remember when Arcade Fire won album of the year and the media lost their minds because they had no idea who they were? I'm pretty sure album sales and such have nothing to do with who wins. My fingers are crossed for Blink. I really do feel like they deserve it.

 

I really think it'll essentially be a lifetime achievement type win for either blink or Weezer. That's what I want anyways. I have a 40% chance of being happy with it. I like Panic's record well enough but I'm just not rooting for him to win over them at all. But like @ComedownMachine said they could totally go left field with Cage. I listened to some of that after it was nominated and it was so boring to me.

 

Does anyone know approximately what time today we will know if blink won? I'm going to be out at a show tonight and unable to watch it live. Will definitely be keeping an eye on Twitter, though.

 

I'll really be sad if Cage wins.

 

I care very little about the Grammys beyond hoping Kanye and Beyonce win everything so that they're the all-time leader in Grammy wins as soon as possible.

Otherwise I am happy for Chance the Rapper, De La Soul and blink. I would be happy if they won. But they're fuckin' Grammys, whatever.
