Ugh, don't even get me started on the main, ever-changing story line of this show.

    -Mulder's sister.
    -Cig smoking man.
    -The Syndicate.
    -The colonists (bounty hunters)

None of these story lines ended clearly, which always bothered me. Also, Krycek had his hand in all of these things, or at least had first hand knowledge, which backs up my claim that he's the most interesting/mysterious character on TV.

Looking back now, it's a very flawed series. Especially when comparing it to many great shows today. We're in a golden age of TV, where the story telling is more focused. You can blame 20+ episode seasons for why the x-files couldn't straighten out their overarching plot. The Monster-of-the-week episodes is where the x-files reached their greatest peaks. I still thoroughly enjoy watching old episodes, but the storylines you just mentioned are very frustrating.

Sort of, but remember season 10, which was I think 10 episodes. It was one of the worst seasons of the show

I think The Syndicate plot was the worst, because all of the 8 or so members seemingly have vanished after season 5 or so.

Season 10? The mini-series last year? I think that was 5 episodes (and yes, it was bad). Seasons 1-9 are all 20+ episodes, I think. About 75 episodes dealt with the alien arc. That was the problem, in my opinion.

It feels silly to even call it season ten. The last episode was easily the most half-assed thing they ever did. I thought two episodes at least felt reasonably like the show.

I don't know much about X-Files but I know there was a comic book titled Season 10 that I thought was in continuity.

2)I enjoyed the 6 episode Event series that aired last year

It's labeled season 10 on wikipedia and IMDB, so that's what I'm sticking with.

But yea, every episode played homage to the types of episodes X-Files were known for.

I think the biggest let down was not having the Lone Gunmen, since they're dead and all.

I had a long Facebook post about it, main concern is killing the diner guy is overlooked, his death was underrated next to Barb. Also the monster is telekinetic and opens up Will's door which I forgot about, not sure if he does that again later I just played the first two. Definitely adds to the 11 connection.

Yeah, I totoally forgot about the diner guy. Good point. Same on the monster opening the door. Maybe it's time for me to rewatch too

Diner guy leads him to talking to the dude that was in the bar, which leads them to hear about seeing a kid with his head shaved, which then leads back to Hawkins Lab. Basically Benny's death is a lead to Hawkings Lab being behind everything.

Also doesn't Hop bring it up that they killed him when they are torturing him in like the second to last episode?

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but in regards to "Halloween", if you watch the trailer, there's a scene where a man is watching a bunch of monitors in a hospital. The time stamp on those monitors is Halloween.

Yup. That's part of the reason I think "Halloween" is the theme of the show, not release date...but we shall see!

It's allowed to be both the release period and time frame with which Season 2 plays out in

Finally got around to watching this. Definitely enjoyed it. Would have been okay with it wrapping up after one season though. I feel like it could also work really well as a movie. I'm sure the internet will find a way to cut it into 2.5 hour edit. I could have done with less of the Nancy and Jean Ralphio story line. Loved the boys/El story line and the sheriff.
