Yeah, that's how Sevilla got into the UCL this year and La Liga had 5.

 

I was definitely thinking of the NHL/NBA stat. I knew it was one of the Power Four leagues.

 

Unless....

If City finish 5th and win the CL, and Liverpool win the Europa League, 4th place will no longer carry a Champions League place. The top 3, City and Liverpool would qualify for the CL. 4th place would get the Europa.

 

All the talk about not liking baseball makes me sad :(

Living in New York is probably the most frustrating place for MLS.

Last weekend at a packed bar there were probably 300 people watching el Classico while, I would probably say less than 10 go to MLS matches consistently. We have millions of soccer fans living here but our teams average 19k and 23k. I have a season ticket for the red bulls and probably end up going to a third of nycfc matches since the league I work for has season tickets.

I always try to invite people and whenever they do come they have a fun time, but it's hard to sell them on an entire empty top deck. There are hundreds of reasons why people don't support MLS and it's not really worth getting into but what I can say is soccer and MLS in growing and it's only to be getting better and more competitive.

Someday we'll be telling our kids about going to MLS matches for $20, hell I already tell people about going to us matches for $25 for World Cup qualifiers, now it's like $90.

 

@Ruethless We lost 100 games for three straight seasons...and followed up by losing 92.

Soccer is very regional in America. People are far more interested in their local MLS team than just wanting to watch 2 random MLS teams play. Otherwise, they're just going to watch European soccer. That's my opinion.

 

Griffiths might literally be my least favourite footballer bar Chewy. Every time he gets the ball he shoots no matter where he is.
