I have a 2007 Saturn ION. Only reason it still runs is because soon to be husband is a mechanic for Nissan. I do plan on buying a Nissan in the near future, but for now the Saturn is just fine *knocks on wood*.

2005 Hyundai Tiburon. I got the car with 100 miles on it and just hit 100k about a month ago. I walk whenever my destination isn't too far away depending on the weather.

2008 Jetta and I have an oil leak that would cost more than the car to fix, gunk in the engine, and a coolant leak

    Takes a Bit More

My sister had a Jetta and my friend had a Jetta, same years but one was manual, and they were both awful. I also know a guy that has a Jetta with a diesel, when he goes to visit his mother in FLA from NJ he only has to stop once for gas. With over 300,000 miles on the car, he has never had any major issues. Also had a friend who had a Golf and had tons of issues. VW seems hit or miss.

I just traded my first car, a 1994 Honda Accord with just shy of 80,000mi, in for a 2006 Honda Accord last July.

That loneliness is not a function of solitude.

Ah this. I always loved that smell in my buddy's Jetta. I was just curious and looked up the cause of this and found the following here:

"Through our research we have found just a couple common opinions on what this strange smell could be. One source of the smell could be the wax used during the Volkswagen vehicle’s production process. This wax is meant to seal the car and prevent rust. If the weather is hot or the exhaust system melts the wax slightly, this could potentially lead to a crayon smell.

If your Volkswagen has a much stronger smell, like someone has stuffed your car with boxes and boxes of Crayolas, there is some speculation as to what this could be. Many people think the smell could be caused by the sound deadening and insulation material under the carpet and behind the dash, which has a waxy coating. Even though this insulation material may have a crayon smell, it is important to keep the car quiet on the road.

This crayon smell may seem more potent in hotter climates, since wax melts when it gets hot. Again, this is just speculation as there has never been any official information released about this crayon smell. If you have a Volkswagen that smells like crayons for some reason, hopefully this will give you an idea as to what could be causing the smell."

@omgrawr Haha that's pretty funny. I thought it was just me and never googled it or anything. It's hot as shit down here so that's probably why it was such a strong smell.

I feel like I Googled it like every other time I rode in his car because I was always fascinated by it haha. I forgot what the cause was every time though. Sounds like nobody's even pegged it down for sure they're just speculating an VW hasn't commented on it.

I have got my 2005 Sentra with 5k miles on it and have yet to break 100k. Most of my life is pretty compact. I'm pretty sure if I hadn't worked at the law firm for 11 months, I would be under 60k still.
