Pretty much everyone agrees the second season is the worst. It's the butt of a lot of jokes.

Season 2 is an agonizing mess. I'd skip right to season 3 where it picks up again.

Season two has a few strong moments but it's by far the weakest season. It's worth watching for season four though.

Didn't the writer's strike/bad ratings bring about a lot of the worst aspects of s2?

I was wondering if there was an external factor involved. A dead body/"what if we get caught?" is straight out of bad soaps.

What is it with random, fast cuts on YouTube videos of people just talking into the camera? It's ubiquitous, yet seemingly useless and highly annoying

The wife talked me into starting Parenthood. I'm about 8 episodes in. Most of the kids are annoying, but I'm hooked.

An episode of Friday Night Lights has an actual, honest, 80s style PSA about teen driving. Might have to take some time off this one.

I've been on a military movie kick as of late, but looking for some specific recommendations.

    A Few Good Men
    Crimson Tide
    The Hunt for Red October
    Officer and a Gentleman
    Tigerland

All of the above are absolutely military movies, but each with their own little twist, or take, on the genre. I was looking for more like this.

Forgot about The Thin Red Line.

Military law is interesting, but there aren't many movies surrounding that. JAG was a decent TV show, which followed Navy lawyers.

  13. Watched season 2 of Homeland and House of Cards. I'm more emotionally invested in Homeland, but I think House of Cards is the better show overall.

    Three Kings
    Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence
    The Hurt Locker
Starship Troopers (sci-fi, but a brilliant commentary on war)

Haven't seen Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence.

Seen the rest, another to add should be Jarhead.

I've never seen either and I love Cruise in the 80's.

PocketCasts is definitely the best I've found for Android. It'll set you back 2 or 3 bucks but it's worth it

I feel like Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2 are movies that could have been really cool, but aren't. Each of them has moments where I'm all in, then it passes. I think with better direction these could have been special.

    maybe not though.
