He did get things done that are legal under EO. And a lot more too. Weird revisionist history there because he said that about specific things within congress, and was right.

 

I think the above is the crux of the problem. How do we get the people that are indifferent to join our resistance to Trump? Or, rather, how can we effectively communicate to them that it begins with MENA folks and ends with them being subject to harassment?

 

You have to spin it that Trump is an active threat to their safety, and in the near future (maybe spin isn't the right word, since that's the case anyway). Most don't care about disenfranchised brown people, unfortunately. Gotta find another way to beat it into their skulls

 

I think that giving them a reason to be afraid is where it starts. Most of those indifferent likely don't care about MENA people being discriminated against. Finding the proper way to elucidate them on how Trump and his policies will negatively affect their family, their community, their livelihood, etc. is probably the best way.

 

Our best hope unfortunately is the Rs. As the administration's actions continue to escalate it gets harder to stand idly by. If you don't speak out you have a better chance at passing the right wing agenda. If you resist, you're on the right side of history, and everyone else who doesn't resist is implicit. So we just gotta hope someone is willing to be the first domino
