I like rock and I still don't like most of those albums. I like about half of Deftones/Thrice and parts of the Metallica album.

 

hey it was a good year for rock! who said i dont like rock? just dont like the bands you listed. great rock albums: the 1975, diiv, the hotelier, touche amore, frameworks, joyce manor, radiohead, balance and composure, bossk, every time i die, russian circles, gates, o'brother, etc. just expanding the definition of rock a bit

 

MIndless Self Indulgence has some pretty unconventional vocals. I'd also say System of a Down's vocals are not the norm, even though since they were so big and all over the place its easy to overlook.

For sure, I wouldn't call a lot of those straight up rock, but there is some good stuff in there. Touche Amore's album was so good.
