Checked out Madea's Boo, or whatever it's called. Loved it, don't give a shit what anyone says. Some of Perry's humor is gold and in this case, the old man had awesome dialogue.

The Visit was added to HBO on demand. Watched it last night. Fell asleep haha. Woke up just in time to see the twist. Now I'm not sure if I'm going to rewatch it. Oops!

It astounds me that people will pay full price to see a film called The Bye Bye Man.

Also I want Get Out to be good.

It's very good but I know you're... discerning

Not sure what kind of spoiler would ruin the movie though. it doesn't have a twist the way his early films did

Bates Motel is one of my favorite shows. Man I just love it but season 3 really hurt its momentum. I do think season 4 is excellent...looking forward to re-watching 4 now that it's on Netflix.

But yeah Norman becomes so unlikable in the show. You learn to just hate him. But there is a very rewarding scene in the final episode of the season with Romero that made me so fucking happy.

I don't know what that scene is, but everything else has been spoiled.

I just don't like how childish Norman acts, or maybe it's the delivery from the actor. In the last episode I watched, which was S4 E7, he sounds super whiny when questioning Norma about being married and coming home. Then with Norma saying how Norman isn't violent when talking to Dylan...I just don't get it. I mean, I get that she's sheltered him and aided his mental health in the WRONG direction, but it's hard to watch it play out.

Highmore has the ability to be monotone though he uses different emotions. Even when he's in a neck-veined, red-faced rage he manages to sound exactly the same with the same volume. Maybe that was the intention, or maybe he just isn't that great of an actor.

We Are Still Here was pretty good. some nice spins on your typical haunting tale. would have liked the mechanisms to have been explained more though.

I just watched Blair Witch. Very disappointing. The first 60/70 minutes are probably the most bored I've ever been in a movie. So fucking slow. I watched it with my dad and he was bored too. The jump-scares in this movie just aren't scary because of how predictable they are. The last 15 or so minutes are fairly entertaining, but I struggled to care about what was going on because everything that came before had completely failed to create any sense of tension or horror. The director of this movie has made some great movies but this is his first dud. I think I'll just stick with the original and pretend this pointless rehash doesn't exist.

The "jump scares" in this were some of the most forced I've ever seen. Meaning they were simply abrupt breaks in silence by an overly loud sound effect or word of dialogue.

Love that film, easily one of the bigger surprises from horror in recent memory which I stumbled upon by complete accident.

Blair Witch is a good retread. Didn't love it but I don't think it's bad by any means

I think the last 15/20 minutes of Blair Witch would've made a good segment in one of the V/H/S movies. They should make another one.
