Yeah NH barely elected a popular governor to senate this year...I'm worried about that state swinging back red sometimes.

I thought Whitehouse was retiring, no? Maybe not.

I respect Rand Paul for not falling in line with the rest of his party and instead staying true to his beliefs and doing what he thinks best. Just like he did a couple weeks ago when he voted no on the budget bill to repeal obamacare when all other republicans voted yes. I lost any of the respect I still had for McCain when he decided to vote for Tillerson after saying he would vote for him "when pigs fly". I don't see any pigs flying out there.

Big news on health care policy at the moment....here are some of the big details on that replacement bill you've heard about today. I gotta go to bed btu I'll try and remember to give some thoughts on this tomorrow.
My initial reaction without reading much too deep into it is how does this pass a Republican House....I can't imagine a 5% cut in spending is going to be enough to satiate them.

  5. Take back the House by supporting your local Swing District
Control of the House in 2018 will be decided by a handful of Swing Districts, places where the last election was decided by a thin margin. Find your closest Swing District and join its team to learn about actionable opportunities to support progressives—and defeat Republicans—in that district, no matter where you live.

My closest is the California 7th.

Hoo boy, those healthcare details are dense. Gonna take me two weeks just to try and teach myself what that shit means.

I'm nerding out so hard over this but I really really need to go to bed.

Basic gist is: Keeps some, but not all, ACA protections, including a lack of a standardized set of services that all plans have to cover, at least from those tweets. Takes ACA subsidies for each state, gives states 95% of that number, and has them spread it out amongst way more people, incomes up to $90,000 per individual, before phasing out slowly after that (this leads to more people getting subsidies, but everybody getting much less, including the low income, non-medicaid beneficiaries). The "subsidies" now go into a Health Savings Account, and the person can use them to pay for premiums or deductibles/OOP expenses. Coverage gap means people can lose their jobs and, if they can't afford to buy coverage right away, basically get screwed because any pre-existing condition they have could then be priced into whatever coverage they bought.

I just can't see Republicans getting behind this. Still a lot of spending that needs to be paid for, still transfer payments from the wealthy to the not as wealthy, etc....as he said elsewhere though, it does "allow for a lot of federalism" though...so who knows.

I mean, none of these are really have-to votes. I don't think voting against a cabinet appointment in a special committee will be the reason you lose a seat. Even then, I still think that Democrats (and Bernie) need to be obstructionist and voting against everything the GOP and Trump put out. Those that aren't doing that, I really hope there are women and others who participated in the march and received some training in campaigning this past weekend planning to run against them. Regardless, I hate McCaskill so much. Blech.

All 1337 nazis use discord. Also the reason for this is Pence caught just enough of Hamilton to be aroused by Lafayette and we own his ass now.

Jason, how the servers holding up? You feeling the "wow, motherfuckers planning some shit in there" traffic yet?
