I've been mulling over how difficult it would be to literally do what everyone was hoping Trump was doing for a while: say horrible conservative things just to get elected and then turn around and govern as a liberal/left-leaning person. Send recruits with no records into these districts, have them campaign as red firebrands, and then no matter who wins the general we have left-leaning people in office. Trojan Horse Candidates, if you will. It wouldn't work forever but it might work in 2018 and 2020, when we need it for redistricting.

tbh I have mixed feelings about this, it is kinda tasteless to take shots at a ten-year-old. but maybe that's just the dad in me.

Every time something like this flashes across my Twitter feed I realize a little more how much in trouble we actually are as a country.

 

IMO it's one thing to make jokes like the onion did, "bored Baron counts confederate flags in audience to pass time"; those are pretty fine and harmless (to the kid), but what she tweeted was kinda out of line
