I think the word "alternative facts" is being used to just mean "lie."

I know Democrats in the house and senate have this fetish for appealing to a higher sense of morality, which leads to them voting for republican objectives, but now may be the time to borrow McConnels playbook and obstruct, obstruct, obstruct. Clearly, the press isn't going to help facilitate information on the consequences of Trump's agenda, so they have to simply not vote for anything he puts before them.

But this just flat out wouldn't work in many places — then you spend a bunch of money to lose in districts that Trump won, and the congressperson could say she was voting for something her constituents wanted and be right? This just ignores what the maps look like, where seats are open, what seats are even attainable, and what the people that vote for those candidates expect them to do. AND it isn't going to actually stop anything from passing if the GOP has their votes in line.
