I disagree. Lobbyists and people from private equity, for example, have fundamentally different outlooks on how to tackle problems, outlooks which many people have political reasons for rejecting. Those reasons relate to a politics orientation that sees these outfits as incapable of dealing with the problems in this country. In fact, these outfits represent a fundamentally different political project that reflects the neoliberal era. Feel how you want. But, if you're connecting a criticism of that to a conservative majority in the future, then I think your political calculus is definitely flawed. Our priorities are in order in the Trump era, it doesn't mean we cannot have an analysis of the latest endeavors of former presidents. Or you can just use the refrain of "we will lose because of this".
