Yep. Better matchup, imo. Plus, like five of the last six games have went to OT. That would be one very fun series.

I'm probably in the small group that doesn't really consider him a lock just because of wins.

I consider wins more of a team stat since you can't truly say Holtby was a reason for every single win.

 

I mean it's obvious Trotz is going to win but yeah it seems there could be plenty of debate around a bunch of the awards this season.

 

But he's also #5 in GAA and #7 in SV%.

In GAA, John Gibson and Brian Elliott are above him but they've both played almost 30 less games than Holtby. Schneider and Bishop are ahead of him as full timers.

In SV%, Elliott, Neuvirth, and Greiss are all ahead of him, again with nearly 30 less games played. Again, Schneider and Bishop are ahead of him, along with Crawford. As outstanding as Schneider has been, I don't see the Vezina going to a goalie with a .500 record. Bishop has a case, but he's not going to tie or set the wins record either so I think it goes to Holtby

 

Schneider won't win but I wouldn't be surprised if he is nominated

if he played on the Caps, he might never lose

Edmonton better (and should) win tomorrow. I don't even give a shit about Matthews, as long as we pick in the top 4 I'll be happy. Nylander, Marner, Rielly, 1 of Matthews/Laine/Puljujärvi, and then all the depth we have... oh god we look good.

 

^Toronto is still a year or two behind the Sabres in rebuilding.

 

Well yeah obviously, I know it's gonna be a while. But we're set up pretty well already despite this being just the first season we've officially gone the tank route.
