Anyway I'm currently downloading steep and trying the diablo event in the meantime

 

Gameplay is definitely better, but it's still not great or what I'd go to bat for in the UC series

 

Yeah if anything, the gameplay is too much like the previous games

 

I definitely think the gameplay in UC4 is great. I can't think of any other similar games that have better gameplay. I mean, Rise of the Tomb Raider is fantastic, but it falls just a little short of reaching the highs of UC4.

 

Yeah, I really like 3rd person shooting and I like that U4 is about quick movements as much as it is about taking cover. I think they pretty much perfected 3rd person shooting.

 

Yep, it's definitely one of the best 3rd person shooters I've ever played. Max Payne 3 beats it but only slightly.

 

Gameplay in UC4 is definitely a bit of a slog at points, and I agree that I got lost/didn't know what to do a bit more than in previous Uncharteds. I think that was due to the level design being a bit more open though, and if you're used to playing those games a certain way the change is definitely noticeable. It can feel like they want you to stealth around a lot more too. So I get those complaints completely. That said, the shooting was definitely the best of the series and swinging around with the grappling hook was a lot of fun. It's also more fun if you turn auto-aim on because then you can just swing/dodge/jump around and pop headshots like a madman.

 

I think UC4 gets off to a slow start, which feels particularly sluggish to get through on replays, but once it kicks off a couple of hours in the pacing is more or less perfect.

I think that is the part that had me angry. I couldn’t aim nearly as good as I could in previous installments. I didn’t want to turn auto-aim on because that felt like cheating to me haha.

 

I decided to do this on my 2nd playthrough and it definitely makes those shootouts way more fun.

 

Just polished off Yakuza 5, that series is soooo good. Now it's about trying to figure out what I want to play for the week until DQVIII/Yakuza 0 take over my life for a period of time. I think I've narrowed it down to a Mass Effect replay as I slowly prepare for Andromeda or Rise of the Tomb Raider because I still haven't given that a shot yet.

Got Mafia III coming in gamefly but not sure how much I'll play it.


I'm slowly coming around to MGSV.

 

Maybe it was Flashpoint:Batman? I vaguely remember that story, plus the similarities are definitely apt.

Honestly hadn't thought about it until you asked haha. It does seem pretty obvious that it's someone from Bruce's past that wants to "bring Gotham to its knees" lol. If I had to guess I'd say Harvey Dent/Two-Face since everything thus far has been pre-recorded or someone MAYBE someone like Hush

It wouldn't have been Flashpoint because that version of Batman was Thomas. I remember it as someone using his past against Bruce. Didn't it come up a little bit in Gotham too or am I just running it all together, haha.

I won't say how close you are. Let me know what you think after the reveal. I figured it out but I have weird reasoning. It's done very well.

For a completely different reason, I'm very excited for you to get to episode 4. I believe it will be quite obvious why.

That's insane that it makes that kinda money. You'd never think that. I guess that does prove that PC is the master race!

Also beat TLG. The last 10 min were kinda clunky. Like more clunky than a majority of the game. Overall I loved the world, and level design. The control, and camera were so frustrating at times though.

 

Also still need to play that Diablo 3 event. I'm assuming it's over at the end of the month.

Does it feel like there is less to the game than SotC? That's the vibe I get.

 

I actually haven't played SotC.
