Everyone keeps bringing them up^ I 've been meaning to check them out.

I was pretty bummed to miss them on the Deftones tour because my friend and I lost track of time and left too late. Great album though

 

having them tour with Deftones was pretty amazing

Woah, Chthe'ilist. I liked that album when it came out and then promptly forgot about it.

 

One of the filthier albums released this year. Plus they sing about Zelda so that's legit

Listening to this right now. Cursus Honorum is ridiculous.

 

Finally getting into Immolation. Fantastic straightforward death metal band. No wonder the Infidel loves them so much, haha.

 

Also can confirm, that Chthe'ilist record is a good one. I don't listen to it very much at all but I need to fix that because every time I do I love it.

 

Other than Ripper being pretty high on that list, it's more of the same from these end of the year lists from 2016. Ripper deserves some more recognition though, IMO. Awesome death thrash from Chile.

 

It's even better live...I think they've played it the last two times I've seen them (once opening for Ulcerate, the other a free local show). They have such a menacing presence when they play live that you don't expect from them. They're definitely my favorite BM act in Chicago right now.

 

No kidding, this album is fantastic. Best $7 I've spent so far this year.

latter day mastodon has evolved into such a fun band. love this one

 

summer 2014 this was the fuckin jam, listened to it while chillin in the sun all fuckin day

 

yeah that album owns, super stoked for the new one this year
