Thoughts:

Zelda is pure joy.

Mario Odyssey looks flawless. Sucks it isn't a launch title. But, gotta guarantee a killer app at the holidays.

I'm not too excited for anything else announced so far. Kinda bummed the battery is basically a Game Gear.

It'll be interesting to see how pre-orders work for this thing.

 

Online SNES games is rad as hell. I'm interested to hear more from American and European developers as this presentation seemed tailored more to a Japanese audience.

 

Just preordered the Wii U version on Amazon and that said 3rd so I'm hoping that's right.

Also before I watched the presentation someone said they were making Xenogears 2 and I'm real real pissed it wasn't actually that.

My hype has taken a hit. Realistically I figured 2017 would be Zelda, Mario, and Wii U ports but I'm disappointed by how much they still don't get it.

 

Hahahaha I mean, language barrier notwithstanding, we got Shin Megami Tensei, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem Warriors and Dragon Quest announcements as well as FIFA which are all fairly big in Japan. This console is going to absolutely kill there. Even though Nintendo effectively Nintendo-ed this presentation as they always do, I'm interested to know more.

 

Also if their free games are NES/SNES games for one month that would be so bad.

 

Especially since their biggest fans have paid for those games eighteen times already.

 

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe announced for April 28th in PAL regions.

It's basically a Game of the Year edition, with new characters and a revamped battle mode.

Bomberman is a Japan launch title and it appears the HD remaster of Street Fighter II will be an early release.

 

I always like how after Nintendo directs/conferences all the real info most people want just comes out.

 

1,2 looks so stupid, they need to give up the gimmicks and give us some actual games. If BoTW is the only launch title worth getting I'm going to be pretty annoyed

Also, I would like to be frozen until Odyssey comes out

 

I'll be visiting Japan around July. Hoping I can snag some games around that time.
