makes more sense than a Skywalker based on Luke's character and Leia/Hans new arc

Based on nothing other than my weird personal hope...
I want Rey to be the granddaughter of Obiwan AND Luke's daughter.

I would hate her being a Kenobi but it probably makes the most sense if it has to be a character we know.

I'd like to think maybe Kylo essentially takes Vader's role and redeems himself by taking his own life to save another.

I think that would be the lamest thing ever. That's the one thing I don't want from these films.

Agreed, but it's the only way I see Kylo being any type of protagonist. Returning to the light and actually surviving seems more far fetched than what I originally said.

I'm fine with him staying bad. If they can make him good without it feeling like Vader2 I'll be ok with it but idk how they'd do that.

Would really prefer him to be defeated by Luke. Having Luke have the difficulty of his nephews life in his hands and not extracting vengeance completely could be a good plot twist.

Ok, I want him to go off the deep end evil, he kills Snoke and takes over. Eventually kills Rey or Finn or Luke even before losing to Luke or Rey or both.

I think Snoke is potentially pretty interesting to have as a main villain. The rumors are he is the invincible Sith lord that Sidious mentions. That would be pretty cool. His design looks stupid unfortunately. Like a burned baby Voldemort

Snoke is nothing to me at the moment. Hopefully they do more with him in VIII.

I always wanted something to happen that probably can't happen now. In my head I liked the idea that Ben continues further down the path of darkness and becomes so powerful that he defeats both Rey and Luke in a battle. We'd see that neither of them has enough strength to continue and be left wondering what can possibly stop him now. Ben would be winded from the fight, with just enough energy left to finish them off, when we cut to a close up of a hand whipping out a lightsaber. Cut to Kylo Ren's reaction and then a full reveal of Leia standing there with her lightsaber, and the audience just knows what's going to happen. It's this celebratory moment because you never got to see Leia with a lightsaber before, but devastating because you know Kylo Ren is not walking away from this. Leia came to kill her son. And she does. And it's heartbreaking. Maybe Ben even has one last moment of light, the light Han and Leia always believed was still there, right before he dies in his mother's arms. He looks up at her, touches her face like Han touched Ben's before his death, and says "Mom...". And then he's gone.

I don't know. I wanted something like that.

can we get a 'Star Wars story' about a powerful Sith lord unrelated to the current mainline plot who just does cool Sith lord stuff the whole movie?

can we get a 'Star Wars story' about someone who just lives on Tatooine or Jakku

how about a 'Star Wars story' about space gangsters who steal cargo and run a cantina

a 'Star Wars story' about colonists who have to defend their settlements from Tuscan Raiders

The universe is vast and interesting and practically writes itself because of the strengths of the OT. But I'm afraid they will only use it to mine prequel or sequel stories to existing boring characters.

Yea, but they did just kill off every single character in Rogue One. Their hands aren't tied to happy endings the same way they would be in a Pixar or Disney Animations film. They bought a franchise that had one of it's main characters murder a bunch of kids afterall.

True. But a war story is very different than a mother stabbing her own son and having him die in her arms lol.

Edit: But don't get me wrong! Great idea for the story, I just don't see it happening.

You're right in that it probably won't happen, but a son stabbing his own father isn't much lighter.

  24. That's the reason I want a mini series, that way I'm hopeful whoever is in charge could expand the universe more than the limited runtimes of the movies.
